Members g400man
Well this just kind of popped into my head here, and i dont know if my little EHX LPB-1 makes it own distortion at full boost, or pushes your amp into overdrive, and yes im using a Twin Reverb

Members jake.lind
It does a little bit of both, actually. It distorts just a bit on its own, and pushes your preamp tubes. Whether or not your preamps start distorting depends entirely on your amplifier, but most of the amps I've used my LPB on couldn't resist distorting. Good luck! Members jake.lind
with a twin reverb I'd imagine it's creating it's own. Maybe, but I think it's more likely that at full boost it's also causing at least the first stage or two to clip. Along with causing your ears to bleed. Members andreas
Does it matter? If it sounds good, it is good, right? But with the LPB, any distortion it produces on its own will be the same regardless of where you set the level knob. It does not distort more when you turn up the level, as the pot does not control the gain of the circuit. The LPB circuit is constantly running at full throttle, and the level knob controls the amount of signal being sent to the output jack. If you cascade two of them in series (like many people did back in the day), the second LPB will distort quite a bit, depending on the output level of the first LPB. /Andreas
Members spentron
What can happen with the non-master volume amp is using the channel volume as a "master": just the first stage distorts. And not a lot. If the volume is higher then the power stage distorts, then the 1st stage (and finally the LPB). With master volume you can start with the last stage of the preamp instead of the power stage, and this could be substantial with a boosted master Twin. Members shooto
when I use mine in front of my Laney GH100L, it goes into fuzz territory..a very articulate, lighter, muff-y fuzz...I dig it really and if if I knew how, I'd make it a little more fuzzier and use it as such- anyone know if it has any kind of gain/distortion circuit that can be tweaked?
