Members stratman61
Is it normal that I have to set the output level almost all the way up to get any volume through this thing?
Members p3dalwh0re
Depends where you set the sensitivity.
Members Lanefair
With sustain all the way down you should get unity round about 1 o clock. My favourite setting was 3 o clock 9 o clock.
Members stratman61
Depends where you set the sensitivity. I like the sound best around 11-12 o'clock.
Members p3dalwh0re
Should be fine, set there. I have two Dynas from about 1981, and I set them at approximately 3 o'clock / 1 o'clock for more or less unity. Or was it 1 o'clock / 3 o'clock? I forget. Either way, I get enough volume. Members stratman61
I really don't get unity till around 3 o'clock with the sensitivity at 9 o'clock and I am powering it with a 1 spot. Maybe its just the nature of these pedals. it's the first comp pedal I ever had and I not used to having to crank the level so high like with my overdrive to achieve unity. Members TechBrother
I have to have mine close to all the way up. I hear that adjusting the internal attack trim pot helps fix this problem. Haven't tried it though.

I hear that adjusting the internal attack trim pot helps fix this problem. Haven't tried it though. That's good to know. I just wasn't sure if that was normal. I can get all the volume I need I just have to turn it way up.
Members p3dalwh0re
With the sensitivity at 9 o'clock I could see unity being at 3 o'clock. Sounds about right. You said "get any volume", so I thought you were getting less than unity - you're doing fine.
Members TechBrother
Definately not the type of comp you would use as a boost. With mine cranked it's a little louser than unity volume. I also find that when I'm playing at gig volumes the dynacomp doesn't have to be cranked as much.

Members p3dalwh0re
I use mine to sweeten my clean tone, and more importantly, to provide my FreqBoxes with a stout enough input signal for them to do their thing.
