Members Exdeath
Basically, I sort of like what they do with post-rock, but I don't have the attention span to listen to songs that drone on for eleven minutes without a single tempo change or power chord. That's not a song, it's background music. Recommend me some bands that sound like post-rock given a good kick in its collective ass and turned into, well, rock. Sort of like Oceansize, or what Thrice did on their Water disc.
Members johanwastaken
You might like the album Turn On The Bright Lights by Interpol. It's a rock album, but with some post-rock-like sounds, drenched in delay.
Members Holey Lint Trap
Maybe not exactly what you want but buy Boris' "Pink." Metal, yes...Drone, yes...Actually songs? Yes!

Members masterwuhan
Maybe the Appleseed Cast? They're kind of like indie rock with post-rock influences. As far as albums, If you're looking for a more post-rock sound, I'd start with either Low Level Owl 1, Low Level Owl 2, or Peregrine. Of those three, since attention span is an issue, maybe start with Peregrine? There's a little more rock on that one, and a little less repetetiveness. As far as their other albums, Mare Vitalis and Two Conversations are more straight up indie rock. Ring Wars and Lost Songs are a little more rough early 90s emo sounding. Members Exdeath
Amplifier has it's moments. Tried to find them for the longest time, but there're never any torrents up online, nor can I find their cds at stores reasonably nearby. I'll check out the rest, but honestly I've never really liked Interpol that much.

MySpace is great for listening to four songs of a band for free too. I didn't like the earlier Interpol, but the latest stuff sounds great to me. Members Monkeybot
I could name a ton of bands that no one has ever really heard of but for what yr asking: 1. ISIS 2. Mogwai 3. Mouth of the Architect 4. Pelican An easy list. There are so many other bands - ISIS and Mogwai are the standards. Mogwai was mining the vein for a while before ISIS, but ISIS just took the vibe and ran with it just about more than anyone else.
