Hm. Hard to find transistors or what?

I guess so. He discontinued the pedals because he ran out and couldn't find any more.

He also screens them for some value. I don't really know what exactly because I don't know much about building pedals, but I know lots of fuzzes used "matched transistors" or whatever. So he's got to find the right transistors, and then make sure they meet his requirements, so it's not like he can just use any of them he finds either.

ICBM is
relatively
close to the Mayo. The Ronsound Muffs are supposed to be really good, but I've never played one myself. I know at least a couple of people that swear by them, though.

Yea I thought that about the ICBM too when I had it. I could get the Mayo to sound almost exactly like the ICBM on some settings but I couldn't get the ICBM to sound like the Mayo most of the time if that makes sense.

For what it's worth, I've currently got a Mayo, ? Lady, and ICBM. Unless you've got them side by side to compare, the ICBM is probably gonna do what you want if you're after a Mayo. The Zero, on the other hand, is a whole 'nother beast.

I may have to pick up an ICBM to cure my want for another discontinued Skreddy.

How does the ICBM cut through? I really like the idea of having a mid-switch, but the ICBM may be worth a go!

RonSound HairPie Classic (mod is supposed to emulate a '71 Triangle Muff and rumor has it, was the basis for Jeff Doucette's "Creamy Dreamer" pedal)

EarthQuaker Devices (FWIH, a close cousin of the old Green Russians & a good fill-in for a Mayo)

BYOC Large Beaver (can get this made to any specs you want, including the Skreddy 3-way toggle to boost mids)
