Members Chris Loeffler
Big Muff is pretty High Gain. The Little Big Muff is a very similar circuit in a smaller enclosure. The Nano Muff is NOTHING like a Big Muff... it is more a bust pedals with some hair on it. The Muff is a classic sound, but I don't know that I would associate it with "60's Fuzz Sounds". If you are looking for a mass produced classic fuzz, the new Dallas/Arbiter Dunlop Hendrix Fuzz Face may be more up your isle. Maybe a bit more guidance as to what you are looking for in terms of sound?
Members blackjack davey
The new Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Face (the bluish-green one). Granted, its a Silicon version of the Fuzz Face but if it was good enough for Jimi & Gilmour it should be good enough for you. Good luck and let us know what you got. Members g400man
Well specifically what kinda 60s fuzz do you want. Like Jeff Beck fuzz, Jimmy Page/Led Zeppelin I fuzz, Cream/clapton fuzz, and of course Hendrix fuzz
Members missfortune
Or buzzy fuzzy Nuggets fuzz? The 60s was a LONG ten years with lots of fuzz flavors to sample. You'll have to be more specific.....
Members starsailor803
A germanium based fuzz is what you need for 60's fuzz.

Don't go for them. They're tone is nowhere nears what Jimi's and Gilmour's original tone was like, plus know that Gilmour also used a big muff for most of his later 70s and 80s stuff. I'm not discouraging you from buying them, if you like the sound, then obviously get it, but I'm trying to prevent you from being brainwashed into thinking that those are gonna give you exactly their sounds. Those are replicas of the pedals they used... not the same pedals they used.
Members blackjack davey
The new Blue-Green ones are built to the exact same specs as the originals. Plus, WayHuge was the man behind the re-creation so I feel that it would be a good Fuzz. I think you're referring to the Red RI which admittedly does suck but not the new Blue-Green ones. If you're looking for early 70's then the Muff might be the way to go.

Members g400man
well um, for 60s ill just say the Hendrix fuzz face (not the crap red one), get a Tonebender clone like Blackjack Davey's got in his avatar, and if you want get a big muff, but thats not exactly 60s Also get a Germanium treble booster like a HBE Germania, can get a lot of distortion by itself with a germanium fuzz characteristics

I played one of the blue-green ones not long ago. Sounded pretty nice, to me. It uses BC108 Si transistors, which Jimi and Gilmour both had in theirs, from '69 onward. In the early 70's, Gilmour used the BC108 Fuzz Face. I don't believe he used the Big Muff until the Wall, or maybe Animals.

It's not meant to be a Big Muff.
