Members g400man
before you name off what he used in the studio let me clarify this, whats the best wah for Jimmy Page's LIVE tone. Members Northstar
Jimmy had a custom wah designed for him in recent years by Pete Cornish. I believe it's this one: http://www.noiseguide.com/product_info/pete_cornish_ac_wah?SESSID=848573827cf77bee0d7d9fa28bdce5b5

Members g400man
Dunlop Cry Baby Classic is a good one. thats what im trying to upgrade over it doesnt cut through the mix at high volumes with distortion, not true bypass, and hard as hell to switch on and off For $50 tho it was a great wah to start with
Members g400man
well his was definately a vox, would a vintage 70s Vox King wah do the trick?on ebay theyre not expensive at all, only about $
Members eclipseall
I upgraded from the cry baby classic also. although the wah sounds good, the bypass issue is just horrible. For that reason I have stayed clear of Dunlop for Wah an went to Morley. Im currently using the Bad Horsie II Wah and the Dragon Wah. Although the Bad Horsie is definitey geared towards modern sounds, it will do the classic Jimmy Page wah very well. I was playing Custard Pie the otehr day and the Bad Horsie was sounding phenomenal. Give it a Shot.
Members g400man
So i read this article that George Teese wrote, and he stated of all the Vox wahs, his favorite was the original Clyde McCoy, and his least favorite vintage Vox was the Crybaby from 1968. He aslo mentioned the Vox King-wah didn't have the sweep of the Clyde, but is still better than any new reissue. So i think im gonna find some reveiws on the Vox and if I find one for $80, ill probably pull the trigger.
Members theealbatross
I think you mean Geoffrey Teese. The Clyde McCoy Wahs they were referring to as superior were the originals, which sell for $500 and up. The reissue Clyde McCoy by Vox is a different animal. Entirely different inductor for starters. Save some cash and get a RMC Picture Wah if you want Clyde McCoy tones. It's Geoffrey Teese's clone of an original McCoy that he felt had a superior tone to others he had heard. Page used Thomas Organ products most of his Zep career.Vox and Crybaby. And a Fairly Clean Tone..
Members g400man
Sorry bout that, Geoffrey Teese So has anyone heard how a vintage Vox King-Wah is. Ill check to see if theyre a Thomas Organ one or not, they were made early seventies and they ebay for pretty cheap, saw one for about $100 I would want that Picture Wah that Geoffrey sells, but it might hurt my financial portfolio
