Members theManfromAlabam
I never tried one...I remember a year or two ago the Bad Monkey was the {censored}!...now I don't see much talk if any about this pedal on these forums now. What overdrive/distortion pedal is the {censored} now? (Getting all the praise) :poke:

Members CicadaSilence
I sold mine in a GAS fit a couple years back. I miss it. I'll pick one up again, eventually.
Members IvIark
I've had mine for 2 or 3 years I'd say and in that time a lot more expensive pedals have fallen by the wayside, but the BM is still in the rack.
Members Wolfboy1
Still my main pedal:thu:
Members woodsmandan
I still do. Good cleanish boost for the money. Nothing can tame my Muff and my NPN like a Monkey right after them...

Members HMCMedic
I've done the Monkey 3 times and there won't be a 4th. I think the fact that it's so cheap fools your ears into thinking it's incredible. It is a decent to good sounding overdrive and if I was on a budget and needed a beater to gig with (especially if I was afraid of theft at the gig) I'd use it no problem and the audience wouldn't know if it was a BM or a Klon. With that said I have picked up a Barber LTD again and to my ears it is one of the best low gain overdrive pedals on the market.
Members IvIark
My ears aren't fooled, in fact I really don't like the sound into a clean amp so it's not the actual tone from the BM that I like. What I like it for is the way it makes my amps react when they're already dirty.
Members Small Stone
I love it, but only had it for a couple of weeks. Will try it in front of my Rat this weekend for a gain boost, and to "open up" my HR Deluxe. I'm all excited about that, go figure...
Members Jammer48
I could never figure out what all the hype was for the Bad Monkey. I still have mine but it doesn'texactly trip my trigger. Now the Silver Kiss on the other hand....

Hmm...it may be worth $40 for that reason alone....like HMCMedic I may also opt for a Barber LTD...at least they aren't way too overly priced. Members Small Stone
Plus, the have a "high" and "bass" eq, and mixer out, if you're into direct-to-board recording or feedback loops (like I am).

Members machine gunner
no dynamics+1 As a boost its good enough, but I have others that do that job. On its own, I found it very meh...

Yeah, too bad they're $50 now. I might pick one up if I find a used one or I might splurge and get an Od808.
