Members letterswewrote
repeated movements are my life, lifting trays and dishes at work, painting, and playing guitar... within the past few days i've developed a shoulder pain that radiates down to my elbow, and my movement is severely restricted, i.e., i cant lift my damn arm, and i wake up during the night in seriously intense pain. has anyone dealt with this? it's really nasty... Members justintee
sounds like you need to visit either your GP or physical therapist asap. i wouldn't expect non-sudden-trauma tendinopathy to present like that, but your occupation/activities definitely signal a possibly shoulder tendon problem. it could also come from your neck. see your doc/PT man. Members Assumer
I agree, get to the doc quickly then therapy. Usually tendinitis comes on gradually. You may have pinched a nerve or something else.

Members TheHarakiriEnd
I went through that. The only thing that helped me was stretching alot before playing shows, a brace most of the time and opiates . It really sucked when I was playing 4-8 times a month. Members Sabicas
I started out playing flamenco guitar and practiced technique for hours every day, after programming for 8 hours. I now have chronic tendinitis. I've learned to lessen it by getting a lot of exercise and playing other instruments.....such as steel guitar. Sliding a bar around is a lot easier on the hands. I still play flamenco, just not solely. Every now and then, I feel a tingle and simply stop playing for a couple of days.
