Members VVarlocked
Hey, first post in the Effects forum Anyhow, I've been building up a pedal board in huge chunks, and I've come across that one of my old pedals works really well as a boost. (Boss OS-2) Now, I've toyed around with the placement of it for a while. I've placed it before the dirt, after the dirt, and at the end of the chain (before the looper). I've stuck with right before the dirt. Where do you guys tend to place your boosts?

Members TomCTC
I boost the amp's dirty channel. So, really doesn't matter where. But lately I have been putting my boost (TS-808) before my Big Muff for a big messy fuzz tone.

Members rustyshed
Place it before distortion overdrive effects, but after wah and compressor effects. Effect order i prefer - Guitar - wah -comp -phaser -boost -overdrive/distortion - amp (noise gate -pitch shifter -chorus -reverb - delay)- amps loop Theres no rules, different order just means effects work differently as they react with each other; at the end of the day what sounds right to you is how you should do it.
