Members REMUS
Has anyone used them on bass? DL4 DM4 FM4 MM4 Thought they might be a good idea to find out what I want effect wise, so I can localise further purchases? Of course that won't work if they are utter poo for this application
Members CicadaSilence
I've used a DL4 with my bass rig for years. It's never let me down, and I actually prefer the delay sounds on bass, as opposed to guitar. Les Claypool gigs with a DM4. I'm pretty sure it's the only drive pedal he uses (maybe a Sansamp, or something, too...), and that should say something. The bassist from The Locust uses a pair (I think) of FM4s. I can't stand that kind of music, but I heard some clips he put up online somewhere (just bass and FM4) and they were pretty interesting. The FM4 is monophonic, but that isn't that big a deal for bassists. You get bitched at if you play more than one note at a time anyway. I've never considered modulation to be picky about what it modulates; mod pedals don't seem to {censored} up low end frequencies like drive or filter pedals. I've wanted to pick up an MM4 for my bass rig for a long time now. At this point, I think I'd rahter go with a Modfactor, but if I found an MM4 for the right price... Members stevemcb
Not personally, but I know loads of people use the DL4 on bass. Most delays, being full-band affairs, work well for bass and the DL4 has a lot of exponents at talkbass. I haven't heard much about the MM4 being used on bass, and the DM4 I believe Les Claypool may use but I haven't heard much about it otherwise on bass. Members orangesix
I used a DL4 when I was playing bass in my last band, worked like a charm. In fact, I liked it better with bass....

Members Collapse
Wouldn't it be cheaper to just buy the Bass POD and get all that in one box?
