Members sci-fi81
Hey. can any1 help me out with advice on OD pedals? I'm looking for the kind of bass heavy vintage noise currently used by the likes of Dan Auerbach. I've had the MXR distortion 3 recommended but from reading reviews it seems the distortion 2 is the 1 you really need, now in short supply apparently? Also boost pedals. Heard the Boss blues driver is good but quite clinical sounding?Effects are new ground to me so any advice would be welcomed, ta....

I have a keeley modded BD2 that I use mostly as a clean boost.
Members blackjack davey
I guess most of Auerbach's sound comes from his amps being cranked to 11 and adding a Fuzz. Maybe look into some of the following: MXR Micro Amp BOSS OD-3 BOSS BD-2 Ibanez TS EHX Big Muff Tone Bender style pedal (for a good pedal on the cheap ask Monsterpiece to build ya one) EarthQuaker Devices Hoof (the guy who builds them (Jamie) works closely with Auerbach and the Hoof is loosely based on his Green Russian Muff)
