Members gregovertone
figured some of you guys may enjoy this...... i've been on the board of directors for our local teen center for 4 years..... we've been fundraising for 5 years....and last year, received a donated building that was to become our center. this whole project has had kinds involved in every stage of the process...picking colors, thinking of things to put in the center, fundrasing, etc... it's coming down to the wire, as we open 4/9. i'm in charge of all things music related.....setting up music events, buying PA {censored}, setting it up, etc.... last night, we started to install the PA... i'm pumped... i brought a pile of guitar students to teach them the finer points of using an actual pa....instead of a box mixer, etc.
Members garyfanclub
Wow, that's really impressive! That's also a pretty balls-out set up for locals bands, are you guys planning on having national touring acts come through? Also, how difficult is it to set up a PA system like that? Also, how difficult is it to set up a PA system like that? i have some hookups for national acts......so i'd like to see them come through....but ultimately, it's for the kids....it's not often kids get to play on something like this, so we went balls out...the install is a bitch. a lot of hardwiring, ceiling routing, and heavy lifting. Members gregovertone
How big is the room? the band room is fire coded for 300, but there are a lot of 'open rooms' that watch the bands as well.

Members Servant
I am the TD and house FOH engineer for www.myspace.com/thefishmusichall along with a bunch of other bands and studios. We're down for a couple of months for maintenance and 're-insurancing' so I've got a bunch of free time right now.If I can ever do anything for you - like donate gear or help with labels/bands- then let me know. I'm all about the kids yo!
Members FatsoForgotso
I wish my youth center had a rig like that. Usually ours it a raised platform in the YMCA basketball court and emo screamo pop indie kids get up there with little crate solid states and try to blast through the crowd. If they lucky, mommy and daddy buy them the newest biggest marshall.

Members Servant
I've had three problems with bands since we started about 5 years ago. Most of the problems come with the crowds honestly. Between fights in the pit and the he said/she said garbage drama - we stay busy.Just a needa little every now and again to keep it quiet.
