Members ReckedTrek
Are they just for convenience or do they help with tone by avoiding excess cable between pedals? Anyone use them?
Members TweedBassman
i've used something similar to those... i noticed zero tonal difference between that and a short cable. also, 2 well placed right angle cables actually save more space than most of those couplers. annnd furthermore... one huuuge issue, especially on the straight version, is when you step on one of the pedals, the jack gets stressed because there's no 'give,' it's permanently attached to the enxt pedal with a solid object. this might cause some issues with solder joints and jack nuts coming loose etc.

I never thought of that. Especially if the jacks are not at the same height from the bottom of the pedal.

Members SharkMinusBear
I'm using one of the straight couplers for the two skreddy pedals I have because the jacks are in the exact same position, no problems here but I keep them securely velcroed to the board. I wouldn't try it with different jack heights but it seems like an easier solution than making an incredibly small right angle patch cable. Members NetStar
What happened? Nothing. But if I had hunted around for flatter plugged jack cables, I'd be able to fit another Boss or Nano or maybe Line 6 in my front row...
Members CiceroTJones
And also Boss pedals are SLIGHTLY angled upwards, so the jacks are at a SLIGHT angle. This makes the pedals bow up when coupled together like that. Boo.

Members NITEFLY182
When you think about it, to make those couplers work they have to use two very small pieces of wire to make the two connections. The size of the wire in the couplers can hinder signal flow or degrade the sound quality. You may or may not be able to hear a difference. I would mostly avoid them for the stress they put on jacks.
