Members CaptHowdy
I need a combo amp with a clean and a crunch channel, that doesn't play too loud for onstage use. I already own a Marshall 1974x and a Fender Twin Blackface Reissue, but they are both too loud and without channelswitching possibility. The reason I'm looking for a Fender amp is simply because I always get a good sound on stage with those and my pedals, which is not the case with Marshalls. Any suggestions? Deville? Deluxe? 12s? 10s? Any reissues?
Members TomCTC
Yeah. I'd get a Blues Deluxe RI. 40 watts, which is pretty reasonable, and still has the 12" speaker and dual channels. Not bad for under $700.

Members Ibebucked
As you didn't mention price let me throw out another angle. Since in my opinion anyway, Paul Rivera made Fender who they are today why not consider a Rivera such as a Fandando or a Quianna in a 55w 212 combo? They can do both Fender and Marshall sounds (maybe even better than they do themselves if that's possible) with channel switching between the two. If too loud, simply attenuate. You can buy these for probably less than what you have in your current gear together. They have amazing tone and range and the quality is second to none. Just a thought... Members Urinate Forever
I've always found Fender's dirt channels to be too muddy for my taste. If you're deadset on a Fender amp though, go for the Blues Deluxe RI as stated above. Hot Rod Deville is something you might wanna look at, too. I think that they're a little more gritty than the 'Blues' line.
Members rileykill
I agree - the Hot Rod Deville would be a good choice (although I prefer dirt from pedals to the built in Fender crunch).

Thanks for all answers and feedback! Keep posting, it's really appreciated! Sorry about my english, but what does attenuate mean? Like using a power soak? Problem with that is that it takes away the possibility to use a volume boost for lead stuff.
Members bvester
If you're willing to spend big bucks, Carr amplifiiers all the way. edit: haha forgot to consider the title of this thread...

Members NoirAbattoir
Dual channel? No such animal in the Fender species. You could get a single channel Deluxe Reverb at 22 watts. Use an overdrive for dirty tones. Or get a Princeton Reverb and use an overdrive.
Members NoirAbattoir
I suppose the Hot Rods can manage reasonable volume with decent overdrive, but the drive is nothing great. I think you would be better with a DR and a really nice pedal.
Members CiceroTJones
^^ Not true... Supersonic, Hot Rod... where have you been??
Members bvester
^^ Actually, depending on what you're going for, a simple but well chosen boost pedal could make the drive channel of a hot rod shine. But yes Blues Deluxe or Deluxe Reverb would be excellent suggestions as well.

Members CaptHowdy
I kinda agree. Except the drive channel sucks. I totally rely on pedals for my dirt. The clean is awesome though. I have never managed to get a good main crunch from pedals, and I own a dozen different boxes for dirt... How do you guys do it?
Members CaptHowdy
Silverface Twin ftw. What is the difference between the Silverface Twin and the Blackface that I have? Does the Silverface have two channels and a footswitch?
