Members pinkzep52
Hey HC . Can anyone name some good cheap (under $150) univibe-clones that have foot controller functionality? It would be nice if the expression pedal was included or built in but it isn't a requirement just as long as it has a jack to use an external foot controller. Thx in advance! Members TomCTC
The only thing I could say is to pick up a used multi-effect processor with an expression pedal built in, and just use the vibe setting on there.http://www.samedaymusic.com/product--DGTRP200 It's not pretty, but it's cheap. Highly suggest saving more money up.
Members ChuckNorris1982
The other thing you could do is find a cheap one you like the sound of and have it modded for an expression jack. It's a fairly straightforward mod to perform for most pedals.

Members pinkzep52
^ I've heard the rotovibe sucks a lot of tone and sounds more phasey than vibey so I don't know. Is there anything else out there for under $150 then? it looks like $100 is shooting a bit too low. Otherwise i might have to try ChuckNorris1982's suggestion. Members Brother_Budro
i tried out the red rotovibes and hated it i own a voodoo labs microvibe that i got for $150 and love it but it doens't have the expression pedal it seems like it would be pretty easy for someone that know what they are doing
Members pinkzep52
^Yea Ive been looking at the microvibe for a long time but then i discovered how cool an expression pedal would be mid-solo. but the microvibe doesn't have an expression pedal jack . Would it be hard to mod it for one?
Members FuzzShifter
If someone knows which vibes don't use a ganged pot, for speed control, it would help a lot of us out.I have an empty wah shell that I would love to do this to.As of now, I use an old multi with exp to get vibe moving. If I could get this thing off of my board, I could eliminate a useless buffer.(sorry for the hijack, it just seems closely related)

Members TheGrooveking
The Mojo Vibe doesn't use a ganged pot requirement for it's controller pedal. A standard expression pedal like the BOSS EV-5 does the job very well. TheGrooveking

Members flanging_fred
The Marshall Regenerator has a uni vibe setting on it (it's my favourite on the pedal) and it has an expression pedal input. I think it controls the speed if I remember correctly. They are usually pretty cheap, at least in the UK anyway.
Members Wilbo26
digitech ex7 is the closest you'll get. I'll +1 this suggestion. Built in expression, sounds good and you get lots of bonus goodies. People have been able to snag them for $150 used methinks.

Members Purplexi
Just get the Rotovibe pedal and don't buy into the tone suckage paranoia. Later on you can spend nearly $300 for a sucks-less "Mucho Vibe".

Later on you can spend nearly $300 for a sucks-less "Mucho Vibe". I used a Rotovibe for years. I didn't really mind its mythical "TONE SUCK!" but its not a very good Univibe type effect compared to the alternatives. Definitely more of a phaser sound to it. It is a cool pedal though, and easily the best looking wah type enclosure out there.

I haven't used an expression pedal with it, but the Vibe sound is pretty swirly--not the best sound out there (multieffects processors have got alot better, but still aren't there for all of their specific sounds), but it's an affordable option with an expression pedal input. You're paying 80 bucks for something that doesn't even have any circuitry in it. I've also read reviews that it is not very reliable and not really well built. But if there are no other 3rd hand clones it looks like thats my only choice.
