Members valvestate
This might be a stupid question but did EHX released a version of NY Big Muff with wooden box? I thought it was only the Russian version that has the box.
Members spaceshot
yes they did. these wooden box NYC Muffs have a good chance of being non true bypass. They have the pointer knobs.

Members L6Sguy
vintage, thats funny. for years, like 1990-2006 (give or take a year or two), EH released much/most of their stock in wooden boxes. a wooden box doesnt mean vintage. built in '75, thats vintage. I knew it. The guy who's selling it mentioned it being vintage on the other forum I visit... !! On the other hand, I believe the re-issue Russian Muffs are just in cardboard paper type boxes like in Ibanez ToneLok series.
Members olejason
I have a NYC muff w/ the box and it has the round knobs. It's also TB the best I remember. I got it used around 5 years ago I think.
Members L6Sguy
EH, and their russian/sovtek line, have reverted back to cardboard boxes in the last year or two. until that happened, every muff/stone/clone came in a wooden box since 1990ish. Thanks L6S! I know there's a website of the history of Muff with all the pics... I just couldn't find it on Google....

I seem to remember the cardboard coming along the same time as the nano's, definitly around that time anyway.
