So my buddy just got back from a tour in Australia where he went to the MI Audio facility and picked up a Tube Zone Overdrive. He brought the thing over to my house, we hooked it up, and the god damn thing is busted so they have to send him a new one.

How is this pedal? How does it compare to the almighty standard which need not be named?

FYI, there are a number of threads here discussing this at length.

That said, it is a fantastic pedal. Some people aren't huge fans, mostly due to the fact that it has a lot of controls, thus it can take some tweaking to get the tones out of it that are right for you. I haven't heard anyone say they flat out don't like it. Most people who aren't fans say "it's not for me."

I'd be willing to bet you'll fall into the camp who loves it. If you're not immediately in love with it, do give it a little time to play around with it. It is a bit of a tweakers pedal.

Great sounding pedal but it will take you hours to get a sound out of it you like. The amount of tweaking put me off as I'm more of a plug and play type guy. Also, there's a lot of bass on this pedal, maybe too much infact. Get a Crunch Box like CrxshDxmmy says, way easier to set up and getting a good tone won't depend on how you have your amp set so much.
