Members CicadaSilence
I listened to Portishead so much back in the day that I can't even put them on now. Maybe I'll be able to enjoy the new one.
Members WorkingClassDan
I listened to Third yesterday and thought it was rubbish. Sure, it was first listen but it seemed old, boring, uninspired. The best moment is a track with a 20's feel and a ukelele backing. That was a glimmer of inspiration. The album makes a comeback seem totally redundant. My advice is to content yourself with the other two albums.
Members damacy
My advice is to content yourself with the other two albums. since it's their first record in 10 years. yeah. you might have expected more than this. but again, i need to listen to it more to get a better idea. Listened to the new album a couple of times and it just stays meh.I think if the same album came out 5 or 6 years ago it would have been groundbreaking. In the past 10 years though so many people have borrowed from the model that Portishead established that this just feels like someone with a drum machine trying too hard to sound like Portishead.
