Members veil
Are there are any weird import fees you have to pay, or is it just the (expensive) shipping costs that the seller lists? I'm just wondering if there are any surprises if I did this.
Members SonicVI
Just higher shipping, no fees.

Members veil
Great, now I have to talk myself out of buying this guitar I can't afford.
Members SonicVI
Maybe it's different for the US and UK? I bought a bass from japan and only paid shipping.
Members raycroft
I've purchased great switches and crap from Hong Kong dealers; very cheap, free shipping , and I got it in a week. Very happy.
Members illinismitty
A good friend of mine buys Grecos from Japan. From what I understand, you just pay high shipping. About $125 to ship a guitar, but it shows up in about 4 days. Not too shabby.
Members cg_25
Just higher shipping, no fees. That's what you think... I get hit with import fees all the time, going from freaking USA to Canada. I guess NAFTA really isn't working for us here.
Members loosegroove
The almighty US dollar is at an all time low, but we don't have to pay customs or fees so buying international isn't a bad deal other shipping costs. So go buy your guitar! (unless you aren't in the US but I think you are).
Members Teahead
The US have a rather more relaxed import duty system, as do Aussies I think, something like $1000 or more in value before duty becomes an issue was the figure I remember hearing. Where we in the UK and many of our European friends, along with Canadians, will get hit for stuff valued even as low as $70 app.
