Members pjackson92
Ok i need some input on the MXR EVH phase 90 or recommend a phaser that you think is better i would prefer not to spend more that $130.
Members Instrospection
The Phase 100 non-script reissue is better, from a tweaking point of view. There's four settings (2 have regeneration) and it's a multi step phaser (some say it's 10 stage, some say 12 stage). It was $124 up here in Canada....according to what people say, the older ones had issues with tone sucking when off and whatnot, but the reissues don't. Dunlop outdid themselves on the new Phase 100's, and it's true bypass, to boot.
Members frankiej
small stone is good as well. it can do a subtle phase to all out crazy. sometimes i use mine like an auto wah. it sounds pretty cool.
Members machine gunner
I think the old Boss PH-1r is better sounding than the EVH Phase 90, plus it will cop some Small Stone sounds as well. Not too hard to track one down on the bay...
Members L6Sguy
every phaser is great. is price the only concern, as opposed to sounds?

Members tonedover
i really really like my mxr evh 90 1 knob and 1 switch and a huge range of sound. the 100 is more tweakable, but the 90 already has the range i like its up to your ears really. Members SharkMinusBear
Get something that lets you control the rate AND depth, that's all you really need in a phaser, so the phase 100 would be my pick although you could pick up a used HBE Psilocybe in that price range. They sound sexy too.

They sound sexy too. I used to have a HBE Psilocybe, it had a great shimmer to it, very hi-fi sounding phaser, certainly not a one trick pony. but with a certain combination of the settings, my dirt pedal after it went almost completely clean. I had to flip one of the toggle switches. I don't remember which dirt pedal I was using at that time, but because of that issue and its size, I regrettably had to replace it with a Retro-Sonic phaser which sounds very warm and more organic, but less shimmer-y, there's absolutely no shrill. both are great phasers, don't sound cheap. Members Armitage
I just got a Retro-Sonic phaser to replace my tone sucking MXR EVH Phase 90. I think the EVH sounds a touch better for me, but the tone sucking is just not something I can live with.
