Ok, i just got a used Ac30cc w/ wharfdales.

And i have a few questions.

I've been playing with the switches, and was wondering what the difference with the 8ohm vs 16 ohm switch does.

Do you prefer teh warm or vintage.

And there is one more i can't remember.

basically how do you like your switches on the back.

Second. Mine buzzes a bit. As in turn on and signal goes through clean. And there is a hum. New tubes? Rectifier? Preamp? Power?

switches: the switch that changes the impedance (8ohm vs. 16 ohm) should be set at 16ohm UNLESS you are running an external cab.

warm or vintage: do you mean warm or hot? i like the hot usually. more clean headroom, and it runs at about 33 watts in that setting.

the 44uf/22uf switch: set it to 44uf if the amp hums. it will quiet it down a little.

how loud is the hum?

Small amount of hum, that i would only pay attention to probably.

But what does that switch do?

the switch either switches from using 22uf capacitors for a vintage feel, or ganging them up for 44uf and a more tighter modern feel with more hum filtering.

i have mine set to "hot" and "vintage".

i a/b switch between the two channels using an a/b box. i have my top boost at a little below halfway for a clean sound, and my normal channel a little above halfway for a little bit of grit. very versatile that way.

Not you specifically.

In general, am i going to disturb the entire block with this....?

Are you famililar with how Maser volume - gain/volume amps work?

Are you trying to acheive a crunchy tone with it? IF so, crank the preamp and adjust the master for taste and level. Or just plug into the top boost and set to taste.
