Anyone have one? This is a germanium based overdrive, I always forget how this compares to a silicon based overdrive. Anyway, I like the clips of this pedal a lot. Anyone have one, and comments to make? Anything it compares to, or tones that is apprpximates? Pretty cheap to at $120. I'm also considering the SubDecay Liquid Sunshine and possibly the Stupid Box too. I'm in a dirt mood lately.

Silicon is supposed to be brighter and more saturated, while germanium, while not "darker" is less bright (more neutral), and less saturated.

I think that might only apply to fuzz faces and tonebenders, though.

But anyways, that germanium overdrive did sound cool. I wish there were clips!

it's a fairly bright and gritty overdrive but not overly bright. i can use it with a tele neck pickup without rolling back the tone and still get a sound i like. it'll do a low gain sound all the way up to fuzz, not a muff like long sustain fuzz but a nastier type thing.

There are some clips on their site, did you see them? Are the Monterpiece NPN/Classic pedals that Richard makes on this forum, silicon based? I think they must be, as they seem a lot brighter than my Big Muff, or my Screwdriver. I tend to like the darker type of overdrives.

Thanks, not sure they how I would like this or not - my Monterpiece combo may have this covered.
