Members SMYTH63
I'm looking for a delay pedal that does not change the sound of a tube amp when its on and when its off I prefer anolog and would like to keep it $50 - $150 dollars. Tech 21 DLA Boost, MXR Carbon Copy???
Members homestar_kevin
i would say ad-9 or a dod fx90, but digital really isn't the antichrist man, especially in the delay game.
Members WorkingClassDan
50-150 is a big range. I'd say to stretch yourself to the Carbon Copy. Alternatively try the Ibanez DE7 (people love them round here) or even the Guyatone MD3 (people round here love that too, although it has been overtaken in recent times by the DE7 love). Members IRG
FOr analog delay I would think the Carbon Copy or wait a week and seek out the BBE Two Timer, about the same price range I think.
Members cloudscapes
is the tech 21 really analog? I'm askign because sooooo many people think their reverb is also analog, andb ased on what's written o nthe site, but it's actually digital (though one of the best reverbs I've heard) I'd say arion sad-

Members blackba1
Are you planning on using this delay out front or in the loop? Not all delays sound good out front. MXR's bypass is known not to be the best, anyone noticed any tone suck on the carbon comp? It doesn't appear at first glance that it is true bypass, but maybe they improved their buffer.... Members cdawzrd
Do you have a lot of experience with delays to compare it to? If not, try a DE-7... they can be had for cheap (under $50 in the spam thread sometimes) and they can do both the standard delay and analog-emulated 'echo' mode (which sounds rather analog for a digital delay). Based on that, you can find out whether or not you actually need something that costs 3 times as much. You can always resell the DE-7 for about $50, too... they never seem to go out of style
Members SUPER VELCROBOY
I've played a dod fx90 ad-9 sad-1 dm2 and i would go with the dm2. It has that gritty delay that gives it character. The delay is well balanced sonically and oscillates if you want it to. Damn why did i sell it?:arg:
