Members SUPER VELCROBOY
you can try craigslist. i hear the tc d2 is pretty good when a/b with the 2290, which is like 1000-1400 bucks. That's too much.
Members tim gueguen
I would imagine they dropped it because some of the parts are no longer made. It debuted way back in the mid '80s, so its surprising it stayed in production as long as it did.
Members allth3s4me
yeah but there's nothing better out there
Members SUPER VELCROBOY
yeah but there's nothing better out there it doesn't matter. Point is it's long out of production. No point in having a love affair with the past. Even if they were to reissue it, i doubt it'll be as good. If you have the cash, you can get one. I wouldn't though, but that's just me. In the mean time, there are eventide, lexicon and axe fx.
Members allth3s4me
those are multi effect units. I need a specially devoted delay. Does Lexicon even manufacture any delay unit? Having a love affair with the past means having a better quality products. 2290 is doubtless of better quality than the D-Two. Manufacturers don't want to spend lots of money on products nowadays, instead making cheaper units with cheaper parts so more and more people can buy their stuff. Don't flow with it is what we have to do, if we need quality. 2290 is on eBay but I guess there are many studios that sell out units like these, especially in Germany; I don't know many pages like that but there are some. Unfortunately there weren't any 2290's but maybe you know sumat else
Members thezeng
eventide isn't really a multi fx, its a devoted delay

Members IvIark
I prefer Eventide delay to the 2290. I'd rather get an Eclipse and use it as a delay only rather than spend the same money on a 20 year old unit that could fail at any time. The thing that makes the 2290 stand out to me is its inbuilt loops which would have been very handy at the time. But there are other alternatives now with MIDI switching. I'm not saying the 2290 isn't great because it is. But I just have a preference for Eventide
Members allth3s4me
I'd agree on that one. old 2290's can fail. And Eventide really means quality. But still, I'm hunting for a 2290, in my opinion it's unbeatable
Members Zachman
I currently use Eventide H8000FW, TC 2290, TC 1210, and a Lexicon PCM-80 as my processors, and they are all in leagues of their own, but the 2290 has a special place, and is IMO, the king of delays.
