Members goth70
I'd e-mail the Barber website. I'd like to know myself. I'm not too happy with my Barber Black LTD right now, my amp does not like it.

I'm not too happy with my Barber Black LTD right now, my amp does not like it. Why? This is a pedal I'm thinking about at the moment, along with the Subdecay Liquid Sunshine. I have two overdrives at the moment, a Skreddy Screwdriver and a Keeley TS-9. The SD can do most of what the TS-9 can, as well as some good fuzz stuff that the TS-9 can't come close. But I would like a good low gain to medium gain OD. I had a Barber Direct Drive, but didn't get along with that pedal, too much noise for me. So what specifically do you not like about the LTD? If your amp is tube let them do the work. Gain no higher than noon, in fact all controls @ noon. It is good for chords I do not like it for solos however. Members goth70
My problem with the LTD is that when you play chords or double stop bends on two or three strings the notes don't decay at the same time and it sounds flat and farty. I so wanted to like this pedal, I read the reviews and thought it would be perfect. I use it with small tube combos. I tried the pedal with my friends Roland Jazz chrous and it sounded better. Go figure. I have my sights on a liquid Sunshine too. That and a Jetter Gain Stage Red.
Members goth70
What do you mean by tweak trimmers? One of my amps is a Traynor too. IMHO the LTD does not give grind that is any more musical than what you get on the amp already. Like I say, I wanted to like the pedal so badly. I have a feeling my results would be similar, especially given the same amp. I didn't like the OD on my Traynor at first, but I do more now. I don't use the boost very often. I also use my Bad Monkey as a boost only, and that helps, although it brings it more into outright distortion than good OD. I think the Liquid Sunshine might be my next pedal then. I'm also wanting to try the Earthquaker Crimson Drive or their Tusk, both pretty cool sounding, although more fuzz than OD.

Inside the pedal it has trimmers to adjust bass etc. Check it out. Make it work for you. Also the tone pot is cut control when you lower it, it adds bass and cuts treble. Members Jules-RM
Hmm. I have a LTD SR and it's about as transparent as you can get, it sounds like gold through every amp I own - including the Yamaha T50C that's not in my sig.

Members orourke
I've got the Black LTD and I just love it. I use it through a dual amp rig (Mesa S.O.B. & Reverend Hellhound) mainly with teles, though occasionally with a Les Paul. I think it's a fantastic overdrive. I've used Keeley TS9, M.I. Audio Blue Boy and Blues Pro but for mild breakup the LTD can't be beat. I A/B'd it with my Keeley TS9 and tone wise it's similar but the TS9 just added much more of it's own smooth, mid-rangey sound than the Barber did. With the TS9 you hear the pedal more with the Barber it's sounds more like your guitar just a bit dirtier. I also have a Barber Direct Drive, it's a bit too aggressive for me. Though it does the Marshall thing quite well. I think the Barber pedals are top notch, their the most transparent stomps I've ever stepped on.
