Guitar Straps

The Fender AVRI straps can be ordered easily & they're a nice strap. Materials could probably be better, but the Levy version I have feels a little TOO fancy/padded. I've moved to using all Couch straps as I love the way they hold on to the stock strap buttons w/ no locking hardware, etc. Perfect strap for my guitars/shoulder.

I already mentioned Couch, but the OP is looking for something more like the 60s Ace straps. I almost won an auction for a few original NOS ace straps still in their original packaging, only one person was bidding against me, but they were SERIOUS and I was only looking to spend a 'reasonable' amount for something I could actually use. . .

As above, Couch straps are fan-freaking-tastic. I own a very nice Levy and never use it, sits in my 'spares' box. I have a Couch on each of my electric guitars.

I've got a black Ernie Ball nylon w/leather ends that I've had for - mmm 20 years or so, a Planet Waves w/Lizards (which I hate. Twas a gift.), a huge padded leather one that makes my LP comfy, and a couple of old tweed looking things with no name that fit better than any new one I've tried.

I will say I like the Kepur straps as of late and may move towards those as replacements.

If you have a neck heavy guitar, it makes a difference. Nylon slides on my shoulder too much. Leather tends to stay put unless you jump around too much.

Actually, that's why I use Nylon. I don't like the strap staying put. I'm fidgity, and I'm constantly moving around when I play. So I use the Ernie Ball nylon straps and like them best. I find that they're not very comfortable, especially with my les paul, but I like that they move around a bit and freely no matter what I'm wearing. However, when I played an Epiphone Dot that I had, it was neck heavy and became annoying because the guitar wouldn't stay still. But for my Les Paul, strat, and acoustic, they work just fine, are very strong and reliable, and cheap.
