What would you sell off?

If you had to minimize this collection, which ones would you sell off?

I don't want to sell any of them, quite frankly, because I bought them all for a reason, and I have uses for them all; but I might need the $ soon.

My first obvious targets are the ones that are super easy to find should I ever decide I want them again: RV-3, LS-2, GE-7, FV-50, Small Stone, Octave Multiplexer, Pulsar, XO Stereo PolyPhase. The next target is the DMM w/ wall wart, because I have 3 DMMs :freak:

I'm certain I don't want to sell off the Big Muff or the LPB-2 because they were gifts from my wife. I won't sell my Stereo Polychorus, because it was a gift from my mother-in-law. I also don't want to sell off the XP1000 because I haven't received it in the mail yet. I at least want to spend a few weeks with it.

Help!

id sell the pedals named random combinations of letters and numbers. when people use YG9, LS69, or even TX3 i sit there wondering if i was supposed to know what these are...
:idk:

plus im biased against boss and digitech, which im assuming those are.
:)

Thanks for the suggestion Doc. I added descriptions next to the BOSS pedals.

Dude, I love your collection but you definitely have an addiction. Please post the photo of your pedals with your OP. It's a tough call because basically your losing money by selling them. It will cost you more to buy them back with shipping if you sell them so you really want to hang on to the ones you like and actually use. The rest is my opinion so take it with a grain of salt. I play really raw dirty rock and I've heard some of your stuff and it has a lot of synth so what works for me might not work for you.

The only Boss pedal I'm looking to buy is the Tuner. Otherwise I'm not a huge Boss fan. I'd keep the line selector, EQ, and volume pedal as well if you use them. Otherwise... You already have a Reverb, Delay, Tremolo, Pitch Shifter, etc.

The Antique EHX pedals are pretty cool. I'd put them up and hope they appreciate in value. Though the original circuitry ones are the ones I feel will appreciate more. I may be wrong, but I feel the mods de-value your pedals because what I'm interested in in antique pedals is the original circuitry. And I don't think the switchblade will be worth much in the future market.

I'm not a huge fan of EHX Tremolo or Multi effects pedals either. So Wiggler, Worm, Flanger Hoax are out for me. And I'd get rid of the bottom 5 except for the expression pedals.

Looks like you could use a good Vibe and Tremolo. I recommend Fulltone in both cases. You could use a good old fashioned Dunlop wah too (I have the Classic w/ Fasel). I just didn't care for the Digitech wah. But like I said, I play dirty rock with classic rock effects so what i like and works for me might not work for you.

Out of curiosity... what does the it sound like when you put the Black Finger in front of the Big Muff? I imagine it tearing the Big Muff a new one (in a good way).

You got a few things you could easily get rid of as long as you don't use them at the same time...

HX pre-1982:
Deluxe Electric Mistress (black on green reverse graphic version)
Deluxe Memory Man, '78 blue 4-knob (Howard Davis delay time mod)
Electric Mistress (18v)
Instant Replay w/ Trigger Pad -i'd sell that as much as it's a cool gizmo, unless you use it, it's kinda pointless
LPB-2
PolyPhase (Howard Davis LFO rate mod)
PolyFlange
Switchblade
10 Band Graphic Equalizer (black) - sell one or the other, you don't need 2 of those.
10 Band Graphic Equalizer (silver)

EHX:
Big Muff Pi, NYC RI (RonSound Classic Hairpie mod)
Blackfinger (tube)
Deluxe Memory Man (wall wart)
Deluxe Memory Man (built in power, Howard Davis delay time mod)
Flanger Hoax - you got the polyflange already.
HOG
Holier Grail
Octave Multiplexer - you got the hog, that's enough already.
Micro Synthesizer
Pulsar
Q-Tron +
Small Stone
Stereo PolyChorus
Stereo PolyPhase - you already got the old polyphase, choose between one or the other
Wiggler
Worm

BOSS:
PS-3 Stereo Pitch Shifter/Delay
PN-2 Stereo Tremelo/Pan - unless you run a stereo amp system, it's a bit obsolete I think
RV-3 Stereo Reverb/Delay -You've already got the holier grail, one or the other
GE-7 Graphic EQ - This one or the EHX graphic eq should go
LS-2 Line Selector- Again, do you run your system in stereo?
TU-2 Tuner
FV-50 Stereo Volume Pedal

Akai VariWah - Don't know much about this pedal but if it's just a wah, forget it :)
Digitech Synth Wah
Digitech XP1000
DOD FX80B Comp/Sust
M-Audio EX P (x2) Expression Pedal

Thanks for all of the suggestions, guys! You've given me some great things to think about.

The Instant Replay I actually use as a snare drum trigger. My music has some electronic drum sounds in it. I only included it in this list because I like to sample my guitar and use it as a percussion sound. I'd like to hold onto it, although I understand why you guys would suggest selling it.

archofmusic - I'll have to play around more with using the Blackfinger to enhance the BMP. It's funny that you ask that, because I always turn off the Blackfinger when I turn on the BMP. My favorite setting on the Blackfinger is in SQSH mode with the compression and pre-gain turned up high, and the post-gain set to unity. That setting doesn't affect the BMP at all - too subtle.

ArrMatey - I actually do run in stereo on almost every track I record. I love playing with stereo possibilities, so the PN-2 is a tough one for me to lose. I could let go of the RV-3 and the LS-2 much more easily.

I'd sell the

Thanks for the advice :thu:

Blackfinger (tube) no way, it's my most essential pedal

Deluxe Memory Man (wall wart) it's definitely redundant, though it makes a nice backup unit

Pulsar of my tremelos, it's the one I used least

Q-Tron + ouch! it sounds so f'in awesome when I put the MicroSynth in the loop

Small Stone yeah, this one is easy to find if I ever want one again

Stereo PolyPhase cool pedal, but between this and the vintage one, there's no contest

Stereo Memory Man w/ Hazarai I'm keeping this for the looper, the reverse, and the tap tempo swells

PN-2 Stereo Tremelo/Pan my only panner with stereo inputs

RV-3 Stereo Reverb/Delay I actually like the RV-3 for its super-crisp and sterile repeats, especially with synth swells, but it's definitely expendable

GE-7 Graphic EQ expendable, for sure

Fender&EHX4ever:

As a lifetime EHX lover i cherish you collection/pedalboard. It's beyond cool. Better than fru's and all that lot.

Just make sure you don't give away something you'll regret. = ouch.

:thu:

Thanks, tubezipper. :)

After much deliberation, I think I could lose the BOSS RV-3 and the Deluxe Memory Man (wall wart version). I have too many delays. I think I can also do without the Akai VariWah, because I really like the sound of the Worm's autowah, and I'm not very good at using a manual wah. I love to listen to it, but I suck at playing it.

If I need to lose more, I'll lose the Octave Multiplexer and the Stereo PolyPhase, since those are fairly easy to pick up for decent prices these days.

I'm hoping I won't have to sell any of it, but times could be getting hard very quickly, and God forbid I have to sell all of it  .

Thanks for all of your help, guys.
