Members flump
When I turn on my crunchbox with the gain fairly high the hiss in my amp gets fairly loud. Is this normal? It basically sounds like someone make the Fffffffffff sound. If I stack my BYOC screamer in front of it it gets fairly loud, but if I turn on the fuzz factory in front of the crunchbox....well, no one wants that. Members jake.lind
I've never got a "ffffffff" sound. I just get an actual hiss. And sometimes spanish radio. But seriously, it's not that bad. It seems like you have some high quality gear, so that's about the minimum you can expect with the level of gain your using. Also remember, when you're playing, no one can hear your hiss.
Members guitarist_with_
I would just like to say: your (pedal) rig is almost identical to mine and I love you.

My old Sunface would only pick up spanish radio stations.

I think the actual hiss is what I'm talking about really, and I definitely get some kind of radio sometimes with my fuzz factory. Keep in mind all my pedals are powered by isolated power outputs. I recently bought the BBE supa charger (their equivalent to the PP2).
Members melx
I always realise how bad the earthing is on my guitar when I'm cranking the gain, hiss and hum. If it bothered me that much I'd play an acoustic.
Members SirJackdeFuzz
It depends on your amp, and what type of fuzz/dirt box you use ! If i max my RAT it is silent, but if i max my Big Muff, there is some back ground noizzze if i do not play.
Members keith101
I get some sort of unwanted humming noise everytime i turn my radial tonebone classic on. I'm not really sure if its supposed to be like that. Anyways I've replaced it with an OCD on my board. Sounds great, no hiss or noise wtv, very quiet. Members flump
It actually also depends on what guitar I plug in. I just wired a guitar with a bareknuckle nailbomb in the bridge which is a fairly high output pickup, and the hiss is louder than when I plug my strat in with the Sumarium Noiseless pickups. Somehow the SCN's are louder than a humbucker (I realize that they technically are humbuckers).

Members flump
Buy an ISP decimator and gate that hiss away! NEVER!!!! Seriously though...not a fan of gates. I could actually run one with my GT-8 if I wanted to...although its not in my chain at the moment.
