I'm getting the Verbzilla in a few days, can anyone convince me not too? I'm going for big Sigur Ros type verbs, I always have my amp verb going on for the subtle stuff so i'm not really looking for that.

bump, i don't want to waste money on something when i would be happier with something else.

I just got a Marshall Reflector and I compared it against the Boss unit and the Holy Grail, it smoked them. Sounded much more realistic, not as bright and shimmery. But I've heard they have reliability issues so buyer beware I guess.

you won't be disappointed at all. I've had mine for a few months, it does the big verb sound pretty good. the only i don't like about it is when the trails are turned on and when you switch to a different verb it makes a little pop. other than that it sounds great.

i thought the spring setting on the rv-5 was the worst setting. the modulate mode on that thing is the only setting that stands out in my mind.

why dont you like it? was it you who posted about not liking the "boing"?

its warm, lush, and huge. and it "boings". i love it. it sounds very natural to my ears. beats the crap out my ac30's reverb.

the mod is cool, i like it, but its not for everything. can be a little overbearing. im really loving the plate setting too.

yeah i remember posting something about that weird drip sound that it emulates. i guess it just comes down to different preferences. i liked the spring reverb on my blues junior far more than that setting. different strokes i guess.

yeah, thats what it boils down to. whatever sounds good to you, thats what you should use.

i will say that it is very hard to beat real spring reverb, specifically fender. however, i think i would prefer a pedal because of the control options. and i think i dig the models in the rv-5 more than any actual spring reverb ive ever heard.

granted, i havent actually heard a real fender reverb unit in person...

i swapped the reverb tank in my blues jr. and it was probably the best $25 i've ever spent on gear.

what did you buy? i looked at the accutronics website and took a look at what they had, but i dont know where i would start...

i put a ruby reverb tank in my blues jr from mojo musical. the springs are set up a little different and the reverb is more spacious sounding. it seems to dwell longer and not be as pingy/metallic sounding.

rad, i will check it out.

i gotta get that awful reverb out of my ac30. i used to like it, but since checking some reverbs out and getting my rv-5, its just a huge poop sitting in the back of my beuatiful amp.

see if they have one that'll work in there. for the price it's worth a shot.
