Some flangers can get a chorus-y sound by dialing in a subtle setting. If you're looking for a cheap chorus & flanger pedal in one, you should also consider the ibanez CF-7 (I think that's the model number)...or maybe an EHX Stereo Mistress (it has chorus and flange).

i've been told about the ibanez cf-7 several times but i can never find it. i think people are talking about digitech cf-7... or maybe that ibanez just isn't available in europe?

i've also heard that the stereo mistress causes a volume drop? it's also a bit more expensive than the RG-1

Ibanez CF-7 = Chorus - Flanger

Digitech CF-7 = Chorus Factory

Dunno what's available in europe.

I have one...

As Lanefair says, it's not a bad pedal. All 6 modulation types are pretty solid if somewhat unspectacular. 1 chorus mode, phaser, flanger are all decent enough. 1 chorus mode is not to my taste. the step phaser is fun but a bit of a novelty. The uni-vibe setting is my favourite and is why I keep it around despite having some other decent chorus, flange and phaser pedals.

The addition of the expression pedal input is useful and fun.

It's built pretty solidly but mine at least, seems a little fickle about powering and can be a little hissy in some situations.

I picked mine up second hand for

+1. The vintage chorus on it doesn't shimmer or go as deep as i'd like, multi chorus is fairly cool and goes a bit deeper and is actually pretty good, phaser is okay but doesn't do deep and lush as well as my MXR Phase 100, Flanger is....well, it's not bad, it's just not spectacular. It does the jet airplane swooshing good enough, but doesn't do the fast and watery chorus-y flange thing well at all, and as Fred says, the uni-vibe is definetely the best sound in the Regenerator. But for the price, it's a really versatile pedal, and is very handy to have live, where alot of pedals' nuances get lost in the mix, anyways. Recording-wise and live-wise, the Digitech CF-7 is nearly unbeatable though. I'm not a fan of strict chorusing or flanging by themselves, but like a good watery chorus-y flange, which the Digitech CF-7 does well.

The RG-1 is usually about $120. The Stereo Electric Mistress is $99 IIRC.

I don't know what their respective prices are in Europe, but either way, I'd avoid the Marshall and get something else. Even the Ibanez would be better.

I really don't like the current Marshall pedals. They aren't as heavy duty as they seem, and they just don't sound great. If they were $50, I wouldn't complain, but at their top-dollar prices, they just don't cut it. There are much better options out there for less money. If you spend a bit more, you're in an entirely different league.

Yeah honestly, if you can find a deal on this guy, the step phaser alone is worth it.

I love mine, but I got it for cheapz

Oh yeah--I forgot the step phaser! It's cool--not entirely useable (I think that i've used a step phaser effect only once on a song, either live or in the studio in ten years....), but interesting, nonetheless.
