Members recovery
... I need some final opinions from the forum! Here are the facts: 1. The AVRI's are priced between 1,000.00 (used) and 1,400.00 (new). 2. The CIJ's are priced between 750.00 (used) and 935.00 (new) 3. The "block inlay/matching headstock" CIJ is priced at 1085.00 (new). As of now, my choice is the CIJ new for 935.00 shipped. Why? 1. Everything I read says the "fit and finish" of the CIJ is as good as the AVRI. 2. I plan to swap out pickups anyway, so why pay more for the AVRI? 3. A new CIJ is about 400 cheaper that AVRI. 4. Hmmm, but what about the extra $150.00 for the "block inlay/matching head" version??? Someone talk me out of, or confirm, my choice. Thanks! I don't know how to post images, but these are the choices... http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2334/2368278337_19d64bc17c_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2158/2368278245_ebc433d5d9_o.jpg

Members booher
i think that white one with the white headstock is the only matching headstock jazzmaster i've liked. i like the block inlays, usually hate the matching headstock.
Members recovery
Yeah I think the blocks WITHOUT the matching head would look sweet. For some reason the regular neck (dot version) looks more "authentic" to me.

Members sonaboy
I don't understand why those guitars cost that much.you can buy a completely solid Tele for hundreds less, with electronics quality that matches any jag or jazzy. i just don't get it. Members recovery
$935 is too much for a cij jazzmaster Well that's why I'm asking for opinions on this. I see them going for 750 and up (plus 40.00 shipping) on Ebay and Craigs. And this is for a used (MIJ) from the 90's. My rationale was that for around 100.00-150.00 more I can get one brand-spankin' new.
Members johnrambo
i bought a used one less than a year ago for $600 and sold it for the same amount to someone here. if you're patient you can find a good deal.

That does seem like a good deal. I started my "research" on JM's/pricing only recently and since that time (about 3 months) I have not seen a decent one go for that low. I even checked the ended auctions on Ebay and it seems like 750-850 is the common price for a dinged-up MIJ.
Members NoirAbattoir
Remember, the CIJ models are poly finished and the AVRI are nitro, and I would suggest the thinskin nitro option. For the win, as they say...
Members johnrambo
Remember, the CIJ models are poly finished and the AVRI have a thin layer of nitro shot over poly, and I would suggest the thinskin nitro option.
