Members distorted_violn
Hello all: I want to use my Alesis Nanoverb in an upcoming show... but need to be able to switch it in and off from a footswitch. The manual says I can attach a "momentary switch (non-latching) footswitch. Doesn't non-latching mean that the bypass will only be activated for as long as I have my foot on the pedal and not be active when i take it off? I need to use it like a normal stomp box... when I click it on I need it to stay on and when I click it off I need it to stay off. I use my effects with a pan pedal (panning between clean and dirty sounds between my two amps) so I need the Nanoverb to click on and off so I can select it as needed. If anyone knows a work around I would be grateful. Thanks A.S.

No, something like a Boss pedal is momentary...it's an electronic switching system, so it doesn't need to be latching. It doesn't mean you need to hold your foot on it. Members distorted_violn
That's good to know. I get a bit confused between momentray and latching. Does anyone know an example of a pedal I could use? Thanks A

Members distorted_violn
I checked out the Boss FS-5U and that is a momentary switch only. It only keeps the effect engaged for as long as your foot is on it. Here are the specs: Boss FS-5U Footswitch - Nonlatching#421382Rugged reliability and Boss looks.Designed to meet any need for a footswitch that engages the effect only for the time your foot is on it, like sustain or spot delay. Compact, lightweight, and tough. I need to keep the effect on when I stomp on the pedal and have it stay on till I stomp on it again (like a Boss D1 distortion pedal for example). Thanks A. Members IvIark
You said it said a "momentary switch (non-latching) footswitch" was required, which means the switching is done electronically within the Nanoverb. So pressing the switch will alternate between on and off.
Members mrmikers
I have a Nanoverb and the Boss switch works just fine. You don't have to keep your foot on it. The Boss literature is confusing. A latching footswitch, like a typical amp switch, will work but you have to step on it twice for it to change. Can be confusing when you're used to just stomping once. Members shane11011
I have a Nanoverb, and I've tried a few foot switches and they dont work that well with it. My suggestion is that you buy a bypass loop pedal(from Loopmaster(Which is what I'm doing)) and put the Nanoverb in the loop.
