Members goaway
i heard alot about the BBE sonic stomp about a year ago and never heard much about it since. Is it really that great of a pedal? Is it really one of those pedals you never turn off? whats the deal???? would a rackmount version be more useful?

Members IvIark
I had love for the BBE Maximizer (I've got the DI100X) for a few weeks because when I first turned it on I thought the clarity was fantastic and I was convinced it would be an "always on" device. But when I did eventually turn it off I realised how much better I sounded without it. To me it really does add a digital quality to the sound which ultimately I didn't like, and I decided I'd prefer to do without the clarity. I've still got it but I haven't actually used it for a couple of years now. It's one of those effects that is quite hard to describe what it actually does to your tone, and there are lots of people who love and hate them. I think you've just got to try it yourself. Members Folky_Grunge
Some people like it, and others think it's a useless, overpriced piece of crap. I've never used one, but I think the concept is a little shady. I find the idea that there's some kind of magic in the box that makes you sound better a little questionable.
