Members t_e_l_e
try to turn the gain and volume down... ... on the other hand i had a hate phase with my big muff, it was my only dort and i wanted something else more overdrive like. so i got a ts-9, ditched the big muff of the board. a year or so later i tried the muff again and felled in love, but for different reasons, now i have both on the board and its heaven.give it break

Members pbone
lots of ppl rip on the muff Wow, really? I've never noticed that here. People pretty much regard the Big Muff as one of, if not the, greatest fuzzes ever.

I find the sound of mine varies with different amps in how much I like it/set it. The Blues Jr. is probably just a shitty amp to run it with. The Big Muff still rocks, though. Members jake.lind
It's a pretty specific sound, those big muffs. I personally think you get it or you don't. Personally, I don't like big muffs. Other people have sounded great with them, but we just don't get along for some reason. If you don't like it, it's okay. You said you had other effects. You should play with them

Members blackjack davey
Is the amp running clean? The Jr. / Muff combo seems to work best under those conditions... Maybe you could add an EQ to boost the mids and drop the lows.

Members Keith SIO
may not get a long...Muff likes to be run into a clean amp at a kind of loud volume. The B JR is prolly breaking up and muff sounds like crap??? That is my guess.

Members Monkeybot
For what it's worth, my recent NYC Muff is pretty much unusable through the Vibrato on my DRRI (tinny and unattractively distorted) - Sounds fantastic through the Normal channel, though. If it didn't sound so good through the other channel, I'd've ditched it right away. 2 cents -
