Members sonaboy
have you looked into the Chopper series from GigFX?their basic wah is pretty versatile and you can choose the voicing. it's true bypass and really light. plus, it has autowah capabilities if it's needed.i've recommended it to a few people and they're all very happy.no "button" to activate it, you just push the treadle forward and do your thing.they rock. Members stratotastic
Any wah that doesn't have true bypass sucks your tone dry. I went down that road with Voxes and Crybabys over the years -- all tone suckers. I finally smartened up and got a Budda. {censored}ing Win. Members creep66
I like the crybaby's and I play metal. As far as the tone suck I use an EH LPB right next to the wah so when I engage the wah I hit the LPB to get a good boost on the lead as well, also kinda gives the wah a much better sound. Members eclipseall
Get a Morley bad horsie II or a morley dragon wah. They ahve a great buffered bypass compared to cry babied that kill you high end or low end depending on the model. I have a Cry baby classic that just rips the low end. It sucks. Members Agreed
I play high gain music and use two wahs, a George Lynch Dragon Wah and an Ibanez Weeping Demon. For the longest time I avoided the Weeping Demon in favor of better known wahs and was constantly disappointed. I got the Dragon Wah on a whim because it wasn't too expensive and I really dig Lynch (although he used a Budda Wah on every album 'til now, if I remember correctly, so that might be something to look into). It's an awesome, throaty wah, very raw and deep. The Weeping Demon complements it very well, because it has a highly adjustable filter and sweep, and can be configured to have a much higher range than the Dragon Wah. However, if you like the lower sounds, the Weeping Demon is still a good "only wah to have" because it has two modes, Hi and Lo, and the Lo mode gets you that lower-pitched, throaty wah sound. I really dig having two good wahs on the board, because it allows me to be more expressive with my playing. I can go from low wah'ing to high wah'ing well beyond the range of a single wah. Members Nik
Weeping Demon.Well built, good value and very versatile. Whatever you do, don't get a Wah designed so badly that it doesn't have an on/off light. Youy wouldn't tolerate it in any other FX pedal, would you? Members panther_king
haha its just some kid thats {censored}ing bored out of his mind Well, I'm not some kid (quite a bit older) but I was just kind of looking for a laugh. Truth however: Kirk uses a rack mounted crybaby (crybaby guts in a rack wired enclosure?) with various pedals strewn about his stage spots. Couldn't tell you if they're switchless expression pedals, or stomp switch units. Though, it's also a pretty good chance that his wah isn't fully a crybaby anymore either. The facts are that he uses crybaby wahs, and uses them a little too much now.
Members JRBain
My preference is for my RMC Wizard wah - It gives me the sound I'm after, and I mainly like to use it for high-gain applications. It's smooth and vocal, with a very lush sweep and great definition, so there's plenty of harmonic overtones, and it sounds excellent with plenty of gain. Although he uses a (rack) Crybaby, I'd say it's reminiscent of John Petrucci's tone from his Voices solo, only a bit darker and wider. Joe Satriani used it alongside his 535Q for the Super Colossal album as well. You might also try the Dimebag Crybaby, which is meant to be quite good, the 535Q and Classic Crybaby wahs also, and the Bad Horsie II.

Whatever you do, don't get a Wah designed so badly that it doesn't have an on/off light. Youy wouldn't tolerate it in any other FX pedal, would you? Interesting that you say this; When I was looking at wahs (as you can read above, I bought an RMC Wizard Wah, FWIW), I read a lot of reviews that complained of reliability issues with the Weeping Demon. It does look like a cool pedal - I don't think I'd use it though; I'm quite content with a toe-switch, and I don't feel any need to tweak my wah sound. What's the voicing like? (as in, classic or modern, or reminiscent of the WH-10). I've only ever heard of Herman Li using it, and I find his guitar playing to be well symbolised by the following: :bor::blah:
