I did the same thing and had no problems. What kind of amp do you have? There are different brand tubes that different people swear by. I have a MESA so I just get MESA tubes. Members AndyVengeance
a roadster.yeah but tubes play a big part in the sound dont they?a lot of people say mesa tubes make the sound sort of flubby. and i wanted to try something more tight and smooth. Members TechBrother
Considering that EVH "crash tests" his amps by turning it on, cranking it all the way up then he sits the guitar in front of the amp so that it feedsback. Then he leaves and comes back a month later to see if the amp is still feedindback. He said that they did that w/ 3 of the new 5150 before they released it. Leaving it on standby for a week shouldn't hurt nothing.
Members sense_of_henry
Your toobs would be nice and hot - your amp probably never sounded better!Although, for doing that, you deserve a big:
Members IvIark
If it was on standby there was no power on the plates so I'd be surprised if it has worn out the tubes. It just means the heaters have been on for a week.
