Members Rock_and_roll
I'm using cubase sx-3, and it'd be nice to have a handfull of plugins and things for it, but I don't want to just swamp my computer with all the ones out there. So ideally I'd like to have one or two really good ones of each of these Mellotron sim Hammond organ sim Compressor Reverb Delay Modulations (Phaser, flanger, rotating speaker, chorus etc) EQ And maybe a distortion in case I can't use my amp (I hear that a demo of NI guitar rig can be downloaded free?) Also, what are the better sounding midi drum programs? I heard one called Tape808 which sounds nice for regular drum machine sounds, but for realistic kit sounds? Members HeartfeltDawn
The best place for tons of VSTs: http://www.kvraudio.com/ Forum post about free Mellotron stuff:http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/archive/instruments/2004-04/42607.php (although in terms of the Mellotron, nothing is going to beat this: http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/GForceMTron-main.html) For a superb collection of free reverb, compressor, EQ and modulation plug-ins, go here and check out the free downloads. Kjaerhus designed the Vintage Channel in Cakewalk's Sonar. http://www.kjaerhusaudio.com/ Guitar amp VSTs: Look for SimulAnalog, ReValver and a few others alongside Amplitube and Guitar Rig. Members Purple Bottle
The best/most used VSTs I have are - ORGANized Trio (Hammond): http://www.soundfonts.it/?a=read&b=13- Tapeworm (simple but free Mellotron): http://www.tweakbench.com/tapeworm- Arcdev Et-200 (Gorgeous analog delay. I use it on literally everything. I wish I had solid version): http://www.kvraudio.com/get/1008.html- S.I.R (free impulse reverb. Amazing, unbeatable, but a little different and to and more complicated than regular vst plugins etc.): http://www.knufinke.de/sir/- Stringer (You didn't ask for it, but I love it too much not to recommend. Cheesy synth string synth. Has a mellotron setting): http://www.falkes.org/music/falkelab.php?id=C0_5_4- Endorphin (Great free compressor, imho the best out): http://www.digitalfishphones.com/main.php?item=2&subItem=3 All these plus the kjaerhus stuff and you've got a pretty nice collection. They're all free btw.
