Members dap99
EDIT: Or, does this sound good to you? I put a Red Llama circuit on my breadboard and made a little clip through my POD. How does it sound? I also played it through my Epi Valve Jr. and it sounded pretty good, but I've never heard this pedal - just all the hype around it. I like it, and I'll tweak it some over the next few days as well. Guitar: Ibanez Artstar AS80 (ES-335 copy) w/ GFS Mean 90s - Bridge PUPPOD: Set on Twin Reverb modelProgression of the recording: Starts out w/ the gain all the way down and then gradually increases to max. Then I added some drums and did a rhythm track w/ the Gain of the RL about 1/2 way up. For the Lead [EDIT: Guitar used for lead was a LTD 400 w/ SD JB/59s - Bridge pup], I think I was around 3/4:00. At around 1:28 of the recording, you'll notice that the lead tone gets a little more "fuzzy". I took the Gain pot out of the circuit. I like this sound a lot so I want to figure out how to get it, but w/ a pot in there as well. My lead playing sucks. I did this whole thing quickly so it is what it is. Lemme know what you think. Members dap99
Bump. Anyone? Other than the playing, what do you think of the sound of the effect? I wish I good get a proper "live" recording w/ an amp, but I really only have time for this stuff later in the eve. so I have to use the POD. Members Crxsh
Sounds thin to me throughout most of this ... toward the end though, about 20 seconds from the end, I dig the tone there.
Members jackpotjewell
A little bit, but red llamas do not sound good at low volumes or through headphones. They sound fizzy and decay weird like that. They sound best at gigging volume.

I agree. It does sound better through an amp. I'm gonna have to figure out how to make that happen. I have decent mics and the Epi Valve Jr. does a decent job. But the sound you liked is when I took the gain pot out of the circuit. I totally agree w/ you that that sounds way better. I need to figure out how to get that tone w/ the pot still in the circuit. If nothing else, I could put a switch in there that bypasses the pot. I'm gonna keep messing w/ this one.
