Members pbone
Velcro fuzz is a particular fuzz sound that has a high threshold for sound (very little sustain, if any) and very high gain. It sounds kind of like velcro being pulled apart under the right circumstances.

Members onyxrhino
The Zoom Ultra Fuzz definitely can do it. I got mine for a hundred bucks. Is that cheap? Certainly cheaper than a Fuzz Factory. But they're kind of hard to find. Devi Ever's got several pedals that can do it. Check out her site: www.deviever.com . The Disaster Fuzz and 33 in particular do this sort of thing and can be bought for $95 new. If you're looking for really cheap, the Boss HM-2 does it to some extent. You can get those for under $50 on ebay.

Members Dado Prso
So I have a high gain fuzz already so if I just add a gate after it I can velcro?
Members Dado Prso
Or is the velcro produced by the gate?
Members Instrospection
FZ-7 on max does it too. Yup, the Ibanez FZ-7 is cheap as hell, but the "damage" switch at 10 percent gets a pretty velcro-y sound, and at 100 percent, it's one of the most messed up fuzzes ever. My only complaint is that I wish that there were more in between the leap from 10 percent to 100 percent.
Members cdawzrd
So I have a high gain fuzz already so if I just add a gate after it I can velcro? what do you mean add a gate? the gate is the effect of messing with the transistor bias voltage, I think... you can't just stick a noise gate pedal after it and get the same effect. Members Instrospection
"Velcro rash" (my own term), on the other hand, exists from the glues of past velcro on pedals. Totally different thing.

The Fuzz Factory has a gate, which in tandem with "compress", really chops off the sustain and velcroes it.
Members cdawzrd
The Fuzz Factory has a gate, which in tandem with "compress", really chops off the sustain and velcroes it. The fuzz factory's "gate" knob electrically interfaces with the transistors in some manner. Are you talking about messing with the circuitry of your current fuzz? Cause you can't just drop a gate/limiter after your fuzz and get the same effect.
