Members Jbrazz Posted April 7, 2008 Members Posted April 7, 2008 they are made for strats... will they fit in my tele neck, word on the streets says they wont, but i thought all single coils were the same size...
Members hangwire Posted April 7, 2008 Members Posted April 7, 2008 the tele neck on my guitar has a humbucker sized space underneath... just might need to cut the pickguard a bit to get it in... I have to route away some wood to get teh jazzmaster pickup cover to fit in, but it's plenty big for other pickups...
Members Jbrazz Posted April 7, 2008 Author Members Posted April 7, 2008 yeah i meant the pickguard, so i guess ill have to cut some away...
Members hangwire Posted April 7, 2008 Members Posted April 7, 2008 yeah i meant the pickguard, so i guess ill have to cut some away... yup... I have a tele neck pickup in my strat bridge psoition and it is smaller... screws are angled in to hold it in place...
Members cdawzrd Posted April 7, 2008 Members Posted April 7, 2008 i thought all single coils were the same size... Nope... there are strat single coils, tele single coils, strat "slanted" single coils, p-90 style single coils, and probably more I'm forgetting

Members Jbrazz Posted April 7, 2008 Author Members Posted April 7, 2008 the tele plus does not have tele lace pickups? i know, lace makes pickups for teles, they arent the same ones used in the tele plus though it has the one pictures above, which apparently wont fit though a standard tele pick guard.
Members Jbrazz Posted April 7, 2008 Author Members Posted April 7, 2008 you played a tele plus? yes sir. it was bitchin'.
Members Jbrazz Posted April 7, 2008 Author Members Posted April 7, 2008 do want.yes, its an awesome guitar.thats why im getting red duallys in the bridge and a single blue in the neck.
Members hangwire Posted April 7, 2008 Members Posted April 7, 2008 you are on the east side, right? just buy the pickups on ebay for cheaper than new and have Wade's Guitar shop install then for $20
Members Jbrazz Posted April 7, 2008 Author Members Posted April 7, 2008 you are on the east side, right? just buy the pickups on ebay for cheaper than new and have Wade's Guitar shop install then for $20 can he rout out the body for me?
Members hangwire Posted April 8, 2008 Members Posted April 8, 2008 can he rout out the body for me? I'll check the bridge position and post back tomorrow morning, but I am pretty sure the only cutting would need to be a bit on the pickguard... there seemed to be a lot of extra room under both pickups in the body...oh, and you'll need the humbucker sized tele bridge piece as well...

I am pretty sure Billy Corgan used a single red lace in the bridge position for Machina and other harder songs
