Members orangesix
the only thing i can think of is maybe switching the comp and 808... looper and noise gate could possibly swap places. nice choice of pedals by the way. when you get the micro pog, if it were me id try it: TU-2-Comp-Micro Pog-TS808-Chorus-DMM-RC2-Noise Gate personally id swap the Compressor,Chorus, and Noise Gate for a Fuzz and Reverb. But that's just personal preference, im sure you have a definate sound your looking for.
Members joekkl
orangesix,Thanks for the suggestion. I will try to swap noise gate & looper, getting rid of the hum before recording. Can you explain why you prefer 'comp' before 808?When I get the micro pog, I will give that a try! If I can free up any board room, I will definitely get a Reverb pedal. Currently thinking about a Holy Grail plus. Well, I didn't really look into reverb yet. Heard great things about Dr Scientist's Radical Red Reverberator. I will also look into it a bit. Hope wifey is okay with that... Members dacama
Hmmm...am I alone in being the only person that places my TU-2 AFTER my distortion and wahs?? It's the last effect that goes direct into the amp, while I have my mod and delays in the loop. I didn't like the loss of dynamics with having the tuner first. Members joekkl
dacama,Hm.. I don't have an answer to that. I had done some research and I saw many people put their tuner pedal first. That's why I did what I did. Also, I remember reading the TU-2 manual sometime back, it's okay to pass powers through a TU-2 through to other pedals up to 200mA. So, I suppose, Boss know what they do, I hope. Some TU-2 expert may be able to tell us about that.Hmmm...am I alone in being the only person that places my TU-2 AFTER my distortion and wahs??It's the last effect that goes direct into the amp, while I have my mod and delays in the loop. Well even if the TU-2 was last in chain you could still daisy chain power off of it.I just lose high end, little volume and overall dynamics when in front. Give it a try after your drive and see how you like it
Members joekkl
dacama,Thanks man. I will give that a try. I love pedals. Members pbone
Dacama, since when do you have a TF? Anyways, I'd switch the TS808 and the compressor. I use a compressor in front of dirt because it allows my signal to get evened out, and then all the frequencies get the same amount of dirt. Sometimes, it's really noticeable to me when the higher frequencies are getting more distorted than the lower ones.

I've since sold off the DD3, Maxon OD9, Crunchbox...picked up a zendrive but didn't like it so I sold it. But I'll have a NPD soon....I have a Whammy and a DMM soon:love::love:

I love *love* LOVE my Korg DT-10. It eats TU-2s for breakfast.
Members Brujo13
actually i quite like the sound of a tube screamer pre ross compressor. the comp flattens the eq and evens out the sound. it does add some noise if you leave the comp on all the time especially during quiet parts. but you can always just switch it off etween songs
Members Mistersuperfly
All that and the lava cable kit... noice! I want your chorus pedal.. Oh and the reason for putting the TU-2 after your overdrive is because the TU-2 is a buffered pedal, meaning the signal is processed even when the pedal is off. And the TU-2 is known for having a buffer that alters your tone and dynamics a little, so putting it after your od's and such means your pedals get your original guitars tone. Probably doesn't make a big difference, but I bet you would notice some change...
Members joekkl
Mistersuperfly,Thanks. Love the Lava Solderless Cable kit, save me tons of work and allow me to focus on playing instead of soldering. Really appreciate the responses so far. Members joekkl
pbone,Swapping the Compressor and the TS-808 even out the sound and help getting the sustain for the distortion. It's better. I like that. Also, I agree that having the Compressor on all the time do add some noise, but's it's very minor noise - exactly why ISP decimator shines. As for TU-2 positioning, I can't tell the difference between "Tuner-first" vs "Tuner-last". Honestly, I cannot hear the difference quite yet. I left it last per suggestion. How are you liking it?
