Moderators justcrash Posted April 10, 2008 Moderators Share Posted April 10, 2008 I am hoping someone here has encountered this before so they have some advice. This happens sporadically, which makes it all the more maddening. Sometimes when I kick on the wah and use it, it will work fine (it always works fine, that isn't the issue). However, when I kick it off... again.. SOMETIMES, my entire signal/volume cuts out. If I kick on the wah again and shut it off quickly, it's like nothing happened, but it is embarrassing when it does happen. Any advice? I would appreciate any help. Members Agreed
I had this happen with the first Crybaby I ever owned, but I don't know why it would happen with that wah. The problem was that the switch would occasionally engage only partially. It would then let an extremely minute amount of the signal through, with what sounded like a mondo high pass thing going on. Can you describe it in more detail?
Members bondini
Are you using external power? I had something like that happen & it was a dodgy power connection
Members SonicVI
Sounds like a bad footswitch
Members Teahead
Sounds like a bad footswitch That's exactly what it is, the switch is on it's way out. Contact Geoffrey if you're unsure, but I'm certain he'll recommend a new switch.

Can you describe it in more detail? I wish I could, but it happens so fast and usually never at a time where I can stop what I am doing and investigate. I am using external power, but I am leaning towards the footswitch myself.

Members mistercoffee1
Seriously, this is nothing new. The fact that it's intermittent isn't a problem, I'm sure GT has seen it ALL.

I dropped him an email at the rmcwahpedals@y*h*o.com addy. I got an auto-reponse he is still setting up his new shop. No biggie, it isn't an emergency. Thanks for all of the advice, guys. Members bieke
I'm having a deja-vuI had the exact same problem with my Picture Wah years ago and also started a thread wondering what the problem would bemr. Teese then contacted me and in the end I received a replacement switch for free and some other parts to upgrade my PW.Geoffrey Teese takes great care of his customers.
