Members ambys
And when you guys outgrow your pedalboards, what do you do? Do you use multiple boards or just sell and upgrade to something bigger?
Members ambys
Heh, I guess I'm starting to panic a little bit because right now I mostly only play in my studio and floor space isn't a problem. But when I start gigging I can't even imagine how I'm going to fit my ever-expanding pedal collection on 1 or even 2 boards...
Members mrweems
look at the pedal board thread for ideas of how big, and what brand to get. some people on here have some massive boards. What is your collection looking like right now? Specifically what you'd be using in a live situation.
Members cloudscapes
I dont have a board. I use the floor and a rug so that they don't move around.
Members Fender&EHX4ever
I'm in the same situation - 3 rondo pedal boards, and 40 pedals. There's no way in hell I'm ever going to try to lug everything to a gig. My philosophy is to view each gig as a different canvas. Choosing a pedalboard is like choosing a pallette. I like to limit myself to bringing one board with about 7 pedals. Different combinations work for different scenarios - depending on who I'm performing with, where I'm performing, what the occasion is, etc. For most members of this forum, that would be a pain in the ass; but for me it's part of the fun and excitement of using effects. Members uncle psychosis
I dont have a board. I use the floor and a rug so that they don't move around. I've just outgrown my homemade pedalboard, I think I may go to the rug solution until I can be arsed to build a new one!

Members Stubacca
I started out with a small Trailer Trash board and quickly upgraded to a larger version. Now I am thinking of using the old smaller board as well as the new larger board. If I wanted everyhting I have on a board, I would have to get another one.... How do you transport everything without stuff moving around? Rug on the floor of your van?
Members vanguard
small board here. i use 4 pedals live. 5 is my absolute limit. i think any more than that and you look like a buffoon, have more chances for gear issues, and spend too much time stomping pedals and not enough time putting on a show. i leave a fuzz on all the time that cleans up so only end up being bothered by my board like once every couple of songs for some subtle ambiance. Members kpd78
at the moment i have 2 boards (each with 7 effects and a tuner). i only really use 1 board at a time - sometimes adding an extra pedal such as my RC-2 - except when i'm in the studio where i'll sometimes chain both boards together and add other pedals from my collection. Members Crxsh
I've got one board with 10 pedals on it. Wah & Volume are off board. I'm about add 3 more though (Behringer Slow Motion, Dap's Prize boost and possibly a WM clone) .... so might be time for an upgrade.
Members AaronF
I use an SKB PS-45 and can fit a good deal of pedals on there, but one or two big pedals really will take up a lot of real estate, which is why I am trying to get pedals that have a small footprint (ex. going to quit using an Akai Headrush in favor of a Carbon Copy). Also, I really don't need all my pedals at once, so if I am out to a gig, I can fit everything I need for a gig on that board. If I were playing with a few different groups I would be changing my board before I went out the door depending on which project I was going to. Members DanJep
Depending on how many pedals you already have, a pedaltrain should fit your needs. When I outgrew my pt-2 I sold it and bought a PT-Pro. I'll probably never outgrow it because I don't want that many pedals.

Members DonaldDemon
I have a 27x14 NYC that I have outgrown. I just made a smaller 2nd board to put all my efx loop pedals and amp footswitch on. I also just bouta PT Pro so now Iprobably won't need the 2nd board, I'll see when it gets here. I use about 15-17 pedals at a gig.

Members thatmullingskid
got a big one early on and haven't outgrown it... Members CS
I have about 11 pedals and all but 2 are overdrives and delays. My main board is an overdrive and delay. The other one is too. I currently use the EH bag board things. They are great if you use 2-5 pedals.

Members Fender&EHX4ever
That's great in an ideal world, but if I'm doing a solo gig with loopers and playing my own bass and drums, it's hard to keep a small rig. I'm imagining this: Sounds like you need one of these:
Members eclipseall
I have gone from a big pedal train pro to pedal train junior. The less the better. It keeps my focus on my guitar playing and less on my stomping around triggering effects that I dont really need anyways. All i use now is an overdrive, delay and a wah for effects. But i also have a noise gate, eq and two high gain distorion pedals on my board. I used to have a chorus, flanger, phaser, compressor, sonic maximizer, whammy, volume pedal. Too much stuff. Members solly
Ive made all my own boards, nothing fancy just plywood covered with automotive carpet and some handles. Ive made about 3 like this each bigger than the next as my pedal collection grew. My newest board is an IKEA Gorm shelf 30"x19". I painted it black, put some velcro on it and done. I like it and it was dirt cheap.
Members pbone
2 Pedal Train 2s. I'm kind of in a transition stage right now. Some NPDs to be had in the future, for sure. But I like them. Kind of wish I just had a pro though. Gets a little difficult to carry around two big {censored}ing heavy boards
