Members thesockmonster
I'm building a new board - already put on a modded russian Stone, a Bad monkey (in love!), a modded digitech chorus, Guyatone MD-3, and a simple EQ, as well as a soon to be modded Daddy-O (may be kicked after the mod. we'll see.) What are some decent yet cheap effects that I shouldn't be able to live without? I'm not usually an effects guy, but the music I'm playing now demands it. I know I need another delay, but what about another dirt or tremolo? Any suggestions?
Members theinTIMidator
Well what kind of music do you play?
Members thesockmonster
Good point, should've mentioned that. Circa Survive, heavier hardcore/progressive (Between the Buried, Haste the Day, August Burns Red), and then classic U2 and lighter rock stuff at churches and such. It's getting more delay oriented and spatial.
Members thesockmonster
I just need enough to cover the bases.
Members Belt
I just got the Behringer analog delay. I like it very much. Can't compare it to any other analog delays though. I play at church also.
Members TomCTC
Cheap yet effective delay?IBANEZ DE-7. Best box for the price.
Members revontulet
If you're playing u2, I'd say a second delay is almost mandatory? Maybe grab yourself an MI Audio crunch box for higher gain stuff; they're great for not an unreasonable amount of cash...
Members V
Well, I'd say cut to the chase and just get a DMM, especially for that U2 stuff.
Members thesockmonster
I can't really spare the board space. I've looked into building a new delay, but for the parts and time, it's really not cost effective. Also, I need something a bit more versatile for live use. And they're stinkin' expensive for what they are, IMHO. But I still love them.

Oh, you're a builder?Check out the BYOC Ping Pong delay, would probably work well... and it's MXR sized so it should fit on your board just fine. Members thesockmonster
How does it sound? I can cover my long delays with the MD-3, but I need that short quarter as well......at the very least 345-375 or so.
