Members MickSlick
Hey, I now have two great delays a, Nova and DD20, I didn't buy them to have two, but wound up with two. With that said, I know others actually do some great stuff with two delays, and my knowledge of how to apply a dual delay setup is limited. Would love to hear how some of you use two delays - applications / settings etc... Cheers
Members frankiej
My understanding is it make one long and make one short.... can use them both at the same time, like set one half the speed as the other one. Im sure theres more but.
Members makingbeds
What i like to do is set two, three, or even sometimes four delays for subtle repeats (about 1/4 of full volume). Then i will set one to eigth notes, one to triplets, and tap one randomly. It makes for an effect to the rhythm of a horse galloping, or like the edge of u2. Members OldCrankyDouche
Just pick a nice quick delay (250-350 ms) for the one later in the chain. Then adjust the earlier one until you get some matching sounds. Dotted whatever. I dont know the terminology.

Members gambit
i tend to set the first delay relatively short with 5 or 6 repeats then the 2nd with one repeat and turn the time knob till you get a rhythm you like.. gallopy horses, off beat stuff etc.. then turn the second delay's repeats up a little. or set your basic delay sound (300-450ms) then add a really long one afterwards (600ms or more) with a pretty low mix and one repeat.. play slow.. sounds lush. or you could run them in parallel so you don't have delayed signal getting delayed again. thats fun too. Members stevemcb
Use one as a delay and the other as a looper. One short, one long Different note subdivisions One to hold a drone and the other to play spacy stuff over the top of the drone One forwards and the other reverse One analog-sounding and one digital Experiment! Members MrNixon
yeah man sometimes w/dub, guitar isnt effected much - serves as more of a timekeeper/snare drum... that doesnt mean that you shouldnt listen to whats goin on in the rest of the song. dub is notorious for using heavy delay on vocals, snare drum... i wish more people gave it a chance. , also using the rhythmic aspects of dub-style delays gives you a different way to play in the space that your instrument should occupy... you'll find yourself playing less and letting the rest of the ensemble breathe more. Members seifukusha
yh, go to the SY page below and check out DIVEBOMBER. I ran the drum machine through a delay with the mix low and it really added alot of dimension to the drums.

Members Snufkino
Good thread. I've got just the one delay, but there's a guy selling a Boss DM-3 for a really decent price in a small ads paper apparently 'as new', and I've been trying to think of more excuses to go get it. It's a bit cheesy but I love that '3 guitars' sound in that Brian May clip. However, what would mixing an anlogue and analogue/digital delay sound like?
