As you do.

And...

Totally {censored}ing brilliant nights out.

What I thought was cool was both he and their guitarist play through PODs.

That's right gear-heads. PODs!

Last night Jon had to play Bass and sing as their bassist has Pneumonia...not cool...Sending love here.

But he held it together really well, and was very humble to boot.

If any Brits here see Plastic Toys playing near you, go and czech them out.

I'll MySpazz you Jon...Don't have much internet access right now.

Kitty has Pneumonia?? :( hope she gets well soon Jon.

Yeah, Plastic Toys are really good. It's refreshing to see a 'indie/alternative/or whatever you want to call it' band that actually look like a band and not just a bunch of chaps off some estate somewhere. I like bands that have an image and idea's behind them...I kind of miss the bowies of this world.

Yeah not nice.
As they were great in LDN and I was expecting Jon to say something like, "She's not here as she's...Got to go home for a bit" But then it was that, and I felt really gutted.

And I agree,
Plastic Toys have just speant the last fornight touring with My Passion, who certainly have an image - but absolutely 0% pretentiousness.
It's actually quite refreshing, they are four of the nicest chaps I have ever met.

{censored}, i didnt expect this! Was just browsing through and saw the thread. Glad you liked the gigs matey.

Kitty is feeling better. It is suspected pneumonia, but caught right away. I'm seeing her tomorrow, so hopefully the anti biotics will start having an effect right away.

It was a hell of a shock i can tell you. Stress, tiredness, poor diet, freezing weather when standing outside talking to fans after a sweaty show all leads to illness, we just didnt know it could be so serious.

And yes, we use PODs! I wish i could use my pedalboad but its just not practical.

Oh and last night playing bass i walked up to the mic for the 1st song and WHAM, got hit on the lips by a massive electric shock. Way bigger than the usual tongue ticklers you get from dodgy uk venue PA's. Didn't feel like the full 240volts, but it hit hard!

Nothing wrong with using PODs.

Whenever I gig I use my Blues Jr (mic'ed up) + POD 2.0 (into PA) so I can really mess with the sound. I can run a really effect heavy, proccessed diry sound on the POD to balance out the Blues Jr. cleanliness (in a diry rocky blues overdriven style).......Or use the POD as a backup...or.......even....contraversial..... I actually like the POD, I can dial in some great sounds from it. And I can also run my SR-16 drum machine ->POD -> PA and get some pretty dirty drum sounds going on.

PODs and drums can sound amazing. I like the compression on there for some dirty weirdness.

Too right !! I'm just mixing a track at thr moment using drum machine -> POD with loads of compression, some reverb and the 'fuzz box' model on the POD, sounds really dirty. I'll upload it the next few days.

Wha... Plastic Toys are from Southampton? Crazy - I just clicked this thread for a laugh.

Just checked the MySpace - loving the tunes! Here's waiting for the next Joiners or Unit gig

they played the Joiners not so long ago. I don't actually think they all live in southampton but they are all from around the area.
