Members HeartfeltDawn
If anyone wants to be very helpful and kind, I would love to know the nut width of your Casino as well as the neck width at the 1st and 12th fret. Korean Casinos especially welcome! I'm thinking of dropping some money on one but I want to know the specs and the sources online give out so many different measurements. Grrrr. Members mlabbee
nut width here: http://epiphone.com/default.asp?ProductID=5&CollectionID=1 Neck width at the first fret is probably about the same as the nut No clue on the 12th fret - I recall it being a very nice neck for my long fingers, though. Members HeartfeltDawn
I don't trust the Epiphone website for decent measurements. It claims my Dot is 1.68" wide and it's not. I'm very fiddly and pernickety when it comes to necks so I just wanted to hear of some measurements from people who already have the guitar. Members mlabbee
I'd be willing to bet it's the same neck as the Dot - I had one of those, too and they felt pretty simlar (although the Dot was HEAVY!!! :-) ) Can't say for sure, though - have you cross posted on the guitar forum? Members HeartfeltDawn
Nah, I figured someone here would have one, not least our marvellous moderator. I used to own an Epi Sheraton and it was a lot thinner at the nut and a thicker neck than my Dot. I know it sounds geeky but I've had that Dot setup so well, playing anything else doesn't feel good so I'd like to find something with single coils that feels as close to the Dot as possible. Members HeartfeltDawn
I asked the owner and he came back with these width measurements for me: nut-40mm 1st fret-41mm 2nd fret-42mm 3rd fret-43mm 4th fret-44mm 40 mm nut?!? That can't be right. That's even smaller than the Ric 360 I had. Sigh... grumble grumble.
Members kpd78
mine is: (all approx.) Nut - 43mm1st fret - 43.3mm12th fret - 53mm i know i've told you this before, but mine has the best, most playable neck (to me) of any guitar i've played. Members mlabbee
Well, teh Casino's neck is definitely wider than teh Ric 620 - I had both at the same time and the difference was huge.
Members HeartfeltDawn
Hmmmm. So should I take a chance, despite what the seller says about the neck width, and just put a bid on? Mlabbee, that's very helpful to know the neck was wider than your 620. I had a 360 and sold it because I just couldn't cope with the skinny neck width. Decisions, decisions... Decisions, decisions... maybe the measurements you were given were for string spacing. if you can get it for a good price, it's definately worth it. (i've your PM but will reply tomorrow. i've got lots of news for you - some good, some bad.)

I don't own any calipers, so doing really accurate measurements - especially of neck depth (thickness) would be hard for me to do, but I can use a tape measure and see what the 1st fret / 12th fret widths are and post that for you. Again, since I lack the tools to do a really accurate measurement, it's going to be approximate though... Hang on - I'll go check...
Members Loobster
Bump. I'm tossing around the idea of a Casino too. One with a Bigsby would be glorious.
Phil O'Keefe
Ok, this is what I came up with, using a standard Stanley tape measure on my 2001 MIK Casino: Nut / 1st fret (both are the same): 1 11/16" (almost 1 23/32") 12th fret: 2 1/16" Hope that helps. PS They're great guitars IMO, and everyone who plays mine - and that's been a lot of people - has raved about it - small OR large hands, it doesn't seem to matter. FWIW, my hands are reasonably small, and I'm pretty particular about neck size / shape, and IMO, the Casino neck rocks. :phil:
Phil O'Keefe
PS You Europeans, with your fancy-schmancy "base ten" metric system, can do your own dang conversions.
Members HeartfeltDawn
Thanks for that Phil. Going by the evidence provided by you and a few others, I think the Ebay seller really did piss up their measurements. I suspect the neck width measurements are the wood part only and not including the binding. Now to check the bank account...
Phil O'Keefe
FWIW, I measured the outer edges - which would INCLUDE the binding. Hope that helps.
