Epiphone Casino - some neck measurements please!

If anyone wants to be very helpful and kind, I would love to know the nut width of your Casino as well as the neck width at the 1st and 12th fret. Korean Casinos especially welcome! I'm thinking of dropping some money on one but I want to know the specs and the sources online give out so many different measurements. Grrrr.

Nah, I figured someone here would have one, not least our marvellous moderator. I used to own an Epi Sheraton and it was a lot thinner at the nut and a thicker neck than my Dot. I know it sounds geeky but I've had that Dot setup so well, playing anything else doesn't feel good so I'd like to find something with single coils that feels as close to the Dot as possible.

Hmmmm. So should I take a chance, despite what the seller says about the neck width, and just put a bid on? Mlabbee, that's very helpful to know the neck was wider than your 620. I had a 360 and sold it because I just couldn't cope with the skinny neck width.

Decisions, decisions...

maybe the measurements you were given were for string spacing.

if you can get it for a good price, it's definately worth it.

(i've your PM but will reply tomorrow. :thu: i've got lots of news for you - some good, some bad.)

I don't own any calipers, so doing really accurate measurements - especially of neck depth (thickness) would be hard for me to do, but I can use a tape measure and see what the 1st fret / 12th fret widths are and post that for you. :) Again, since I lack the tools to do a really accurate measurement, it's going to be approximate though... :(

Hang on - I'll go check...

Ok, this is what I came up with, using a standard Stanley tape measure on my 2001 MIK Casino:

Nut / 1st fret (both are the same): 1 11/16" (almost 1 23/32")

12th fret: 2 1/16"

Hope that helps. :)

PS They're great guitars IMO, and everyone who plays mine - and that's been a lot of people - has raved about it - small OR large hands, it doesn't seem to matter. FWIW, my hands are reasonably small, and I'm pretty particular about neck size / shape, and IMO, the Casino neck rocks. :phil:

Thanks for that Phil. Going by the evidence provided by you and a few others, I think the Ebay seller really did piss up their measurements. I suspect the neck width measurements are the wood part only and not including the binding.

Now to check the bank account...
