is it true the Little big muff sounds more like the 70's big muff

I have the reissue big muff pi, little big muff, and the double muff. Between the the big muff pi and the little big muff, the little big muff sounds darker, and a little more bassy, mushy than the bigger big muff pi. These with controls set at noon. The control sequence on my little big muff is also different. It is Volume, Tone, and Sustain. Other little big muffs have it in reverse, Sustain, Tone, and Volume. I wonder if the circuits have been changed and effecting the sound. Anyone know?

no circuit/sound change, just a rearrangement of the dials.

i was under the impression it was just a smaller enclosure for those who want to fit one on their boards...

I'm afraid the enclosure is not the only thing different, but tone is very different as well. You really need to play both the larger Big Muff Pi reissue and the Little Big Muff side by side to really hear the difference, and choose the one you prefer. I kinda lean towards the larger big muff as it doesn't sound mushy or muddy when playing chords.

You should also try out the double muff. To me, the double muff, in double mode, sounds similar to the older 70's little big muff.
