Members Fenderman1991
So yeah, it's basically official, there are so few musicians in my town, my age, that fit my music tastes with which to start a band. I need a drummer and kinda bassist... I have a great vocalist friend who's moved around a bit, fiddled with bass, but really, WHY CAN'T I GET A BAND TOGETHER? Any tips from you pros? Members MuffFuzz
I have the same problem, except their are tons of musicians but they all liek to scream into microphones playing fake "chuga-chuga" Metal.
Members Instrospection
Good bands are incredibly hard to find--I auditioned tons of guys, none of them were suitable. They were either great players but would overplay with ten zillion notes that shouldn't have been there, or they just couldn't play, period. DIY, as they say..... DIY, as they say.....We're having that problem trying to find a touring bass player. Everyone who auditions just sucks. It's even harder when you're trying to find a girl to play for you that can also sing and play piano. I really wish our bassist could come with us. Members Fenderman1991
I'm out on Long Island. where are you? Same here, everyone plays metal, I mean, whaddafxup? I wish I could even audition tons of bad people. I could settle with ones that have similar tastes and they could get better in a band environment....I mean really, no one that shares my tastes play an instrument or play an instrument and doesn't share my taste././

I love me some metal but i dont play it. College kinda sucks the time outta the day though, i barely have time to play guitar sometimes. Let alone hit up some friends and play together for awhile. Members Drifter182
If your still 16, best bet is to drag people from your school that are interested, even if they suck. Better interested and suck then amazing and unmotivated.Maybe wait until college? I might be joining a band just cause I had an extended conversation with some kid in my English class ftw! Im in some POS town just above Saratoga maybe not "Upstate" but theres huge diffrences between NYC, Hudson Valley, Albany, Buffalo-Rochester, and Upstate that their should be like 5 diffrent states IMO

Members Drifter182
^ Glens Falls, mighta heard of it, Civic Center with some shows, Foo Fighters not to long ago...........really, not much of interest around here though, until you drive down to Saratoga for track season or Lake George in the summer.Rochester is like 4 hours away from me. I know, I did a college visit before. 4 hour drive, 2 hour visit, 4 hours back Also OP, be fortunate you have guitar and singing. Those would be the hardest to learn. Drummers and Bassits don't have to be wicked talented when they start jamming, just a simple beat and simple bassline is all

It has its disadvantages like parents (no parties, etc.) but I get to work part time around my scheduale. I think it evens out nicely
