Members Salsage
I was wondering if You were going to rate it higher than the Behringer clone... Wow:eek: not even close. tell me more :blah:cleaner, deeper etc etc
Members Fender&EHX4ever
It was my first delay pedal. I bought it new in '98. I've thought about selling it off many times, but I just can't bear to do it. The tone is so completely clean and digital, but sometimes that hits the spot for certain contexts. The plate reverbs are really useful for spacerock.
Members Crxsh
I bought mine for $50 about a year ago... it'll never come off my board. {censored}... I paid twice that. Great pedal though. I'm not selling mine any time soon.

Members iowa 51
I have an RV-3. It was the 1st pedal I bought. I tend to use it as a short delay with a splash of reverb. Subtle, but I love it. I haven't looked at any other reverb/delay pedals since I got it. It certainly does everything that I need it to do. Members TomCTC
I dig mine. I had the older green MXR Analog Delay and an RV-3 in my rig, but sold the MXR cause I'm just that fond of the Boss. Great little pedal.
Members indigoguy
Am loving my rv3 too, its almost knocked my dl4 off the board but i need the oscillation and ability to warble - might be time to pair the rv3 with a real analog delay and live happily ever after
Members friction
It was my first delay pedal as well...I got it in a trade from a pawnshop a few years back. I've since gotten a number of delays (a couple DMM's, Ibanez ADL, Boss DD-2, a handful of others...) and the RV-3 always stays on my board for one purpose or another. Members Loobster
I wouldn't expect that amazing things from the Verbzilla. I'm thinking of having a go with the RV-3.
Members bbrunskill
It's the only pedal that I've kept for more than a few years. Now lives on my acoustic pedal board, and brings just the perfect bright ambience to my Cole Clark and Lowden

I was so happy to sell it off and get a verbzilla instead. The reverb sounded way to digital and metallic for my taste. To each his own I guess. Members theinTIMidator
Eh...I don't think the RV-3 sounds that natural. I prefer the Holy Grail (Plus).
Members FuzzShifter
The reverb was OK, but I traded mine to a forumite for a green ringer clone. I don't miss it much.
Members Fender&EHX4ever
Eh...I don't think the RV-3 sounds that natural. I prefer the Holy Grail (Plus). The RV-3s reverbs aren't natural, I agree. They're cold and metallic, and prone to having a high pitched ringing. But for some applications it can be cool. I prefer the Holy Grail too for spring and hall reverbs, but the Holy Grail doesn't do the long plate reverbs.

Members andrew_k
I just bought one, for the express purpose of running before a boost into a vibrochamp. If I don't dig it, there'll be an RV-3 in the spam thread, looking to be traded for a Marshall Reflector.

Members gambit
By any chance did you buy it off 'biancatree' or someone? I had my eye on an RV-3, boxed, great condition. The guy had billed it as "Boss RV-3 digital reverb, rare discontiniued". I sent him a message about the reverb settings and he didn't have a clue what I was talking about and suggested I "try one out in my local guitar shop". Would that be the discontinued pedal that we're talking about then? :freak: That and some negative feedback made me back out. Damn, I bet it was this one you got! nah, i got the one listed as "effects pedal". gotta love poor sellers. i'm not sure the RV-3's delay is that usable for me since i generally like my delays analog or tape (or sims of them anyway).. but the reverb is really nice. pristine, yes, but not nearly as harsh as the RV-5 and it can go much bassier on the RV-3 aswell. the plate mode has some serious boom in the low frequencies. much different to almost all other plate modes i've played through.. that could be annoying but not if you want a massive long decaying sound! but it seems to be a great go-to pedal for general ambience so far. probably because all of the modes actually sound decent. it doesn't have any weak modes like others do. definite keeper.
